Mahananda das: At first we simply practice these regulative principles on the order of our spiritual master. But soon, as we practice more and more, we become a little more attached to Krishna, and our service can become a little more spontaneous, which is called raganuga bhakti. You are thinking, "Oh, let me bring these beautiful roses for Krishna." It can become more or less out of love, even in the beginning stages of practice. So I give my tithe either in the form of Laxmi, or with items that I hope will be pleasing to Krishna.
