I want to thank everyone for participating in the Prabhupada Marathon I have heard that there was great success throughout the world, we'll see the results in three weeks or so

Glorification of Krsna is complete when many devotees participate. Also, complete glorification means glorifying not only Krsna's name but also His form, His qualities, His pastimes, His entourage, His paraphernalia--everything related to Him. Distribution of Srila Prabhupada's books is complete glorification of Krsna because Srila Prabhupada's books glorify Krsna fully--His name, form, qualities, pastimes, and so on

How the Prabhupada Marathon evolved is interesting. The most successful three days in book distribution history up to 1972 took place at the end of that year in Los Angeles. Three days before Christmas, the Los Angeles devotees distributed more than 17,000 pieces of literature!

September proved to be a great month for the Pune temple. They did 12,960 points, a 207% increase over a year ago. The president there, Radhe Shyama Prabhu, is a graduate of IIT (the top university in India) and one of the nicest devotees you'll ever meet

One late Friday afternoon we received a call from Reverend Ntombe, the leader of one of the Methodist churches in Pretoria. He said, "I was told you are from a society that is giving books to libraries. Could you donate some books for our church library?"

The month of June had some interesting highlights. Bhaktin Radhika of the temple in Juhu (Mumbai) did 44,560 book points, distributing 20,000 Bhagavad-gitas and 9,120 medium books. Very impressive

I met an Indian lady from South India of all places, who gave her name as Tanya. I replied to her:" But that's not an Indian name!" Then she said:" My full name is Cai-tanya" Then I asked her whether she knew Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. She replied "No"

The devotees of ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) in San Jose are still glowing after recently completing the annual Bhaktivinoda Thakur Monthly Sankirtan Festival. They set for themselves the daunting goal of mobilizing 300 book distributors, but when the dust settled a record 556 people had gone out, with a net result of over 10,000 books distributed and over $18,000 collected in donations!

When distributing in Vancouver recently, I approached a man with his teenage son and his eleven-year-old daughter. As I was showing him the Bhagavad-gita he said to me, "Jehovah's Witness?"

Most of us take to book distribution on roads and to houses on holidays or we allocate a time separately for that. What if we can distribute books during our travel in busses and trains, when we are going to our workplace.

We set up a shop in the foyer with mainly books but other paraphenalia also. So we do home programs and some people buy books during the programs.

Many devotees are now returning from India after their pilgrimage to the holy dhama. Srila Prabhupada wanted the sankirtan devotees to go to India to get inspiration and then go back to their countries with greater strength to spread the sankirtan movement of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

In case you have not heard the news, ISKCON of Silicon Valley in San Jose, California (ISV) distributed over 23,500 books for its December 2009 Monthly Sankirtan Festival, doubling last year’s ISV record, and putting ISV in third place for the month in North America.

The month of November was a good warm up for the Prabhupada Marathon. Two temples in New Delhi did extraordinary, the Radha Parth-sarathi Temple and New Delhi(Punjabi Bag). The devotees of Radha Partha-sarathi temple did 115,518 book points, amazing, and Punjabhi Bag did 49,534 points.

Our GBC- Tamohara prabhu dusted off his old sankirtan skills and joined the first party and later went back for more nectar. Our president Mukhya dd joined the table at Walmart and was ecstatic to taste the nectar again after many years.

Last year during the Mayapur festival many international leaders of our sankirtan movement and some of the BBT managers had a meeting about book distribution and concluded that we should revive the book distribution training course.
