When God appears in this world, He does not do so because He is forced to. Rather, He appears in this world out of His divine love for all living beings and Mother Earth herself. God loves us and beckons to us to love Him. His very essence is divine love. Krishna is all-loving and all-lovable. And the more our love for Him grows, so does our love for others, regardless of their race, religion, or nationality. Such divine love is the essence of Krishna, the essence of Janmashtami, and the essence of real religion.

The Boston center of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, established in 1968 and now known as New Gundica Dham, was one of the most prominent temples in the early years of the Hare Krishna movement. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada set a number of milestones in Boston, distinguishing the yatra's position as a significant center for the development of Lord Caitanya’s Sankirtana movement in the west. It was at Boston’s Commonwealth Pier in 1965 that Srila Prabhupada first set foot on Western soil, and where he composed his prayer "Markine Bhagavata-dharma", entreating Lord Krishna for the spiritual deliverance of the western countries. Boston was also where Srila Prabhupada performed the first Brahmanical initiations of western men and women, either in or outside of ISKCON.

I was initiated in 2007, and given a baptism name: Acyuta Charan Das.

The response has been overwhelming. The situation remains volatile and fluid. Each day more devotees are submitting requests for places to take refuge. Each day more facilities are opening up. Repairs on the retreat center have already begun. Most of those who have taken refuge there are providing all the labor required to upgrade the facilities to better accommodate the influx of refugees.

He had done the dating of the Mahabharata war using astronomy. I immediately tried to corroborate all his research using the regular Planetarium software and I came to the same conclusions [as him]," Pandit says.

Whereas it is important that Srila Prabhupada’s pre-eminent position not be overshadowed by samadhis or other memorials for other personalities.

In 1971 I related to Srila Prabhupada my personal experience of revelation from Krishna. With eyebrows raised he immediately said: "So now you must tell them that God is not dead." It has been a long time coming and finally by his grace I have published this book. In the history of western literature there has never been a factual description of God. We often hear that ‚Äúno one has seen God and lived to tell about it.‚ÄĚ However, if the Supreme Truth wishes to reveal Himself to whomever and whenever He so chooses, then the Infinite can be known to the infinitesimal.
