She died of heart failure resulting from her injuries about 2.15am (7.45am AEDT) in the Indian holy city of Vrindavan, where she had been brought after doctors said they could not remove the bullet that had lodged in her brain.

The Karasai district Hakimat demanded that all the "illegally constructed buildings" situated on this land including the temple of the Society for Krishna Consciousness and the cowshed be demolished in 10 days.

These bodies have addressed statements of concern to the Kazakh government condemning the aggressive measures taken towards the religious community, with the hope that the conflict would be resolved in a civilized manner.

As mentioned in recent postings from BB Govinda Swami, ISKCON Kazakhstan is about to lose everything. They are being evicted from the land and their property confiscated.

"In the association of pure devotees, discussion of the pastimes and activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is very pleasing and satisfying to the ear and the heart. By cultivating such knowledge one gradually becomes advanced on the path of liberation, and thereafter he is freed, and his attraction becomes fixed. Then real devotion and devotional service begin."

So one might ask what the upshot of all these meetings is: the answer is to get as much support across the board as possible, from all sections of Parliament — government, ministers, opposition, other parties — so that they support it in discussion when it’s raised.

Govinda Maharaja knows Lalooji, and last year attended the wedding of one of Lalooji’s 9 daughters. It was a fast meeting, but very effective. Lalooji’s first words, on watching the video of the demolition, were, “They are finished. That they have done this to them (the women in the video) when they are calling out for Krishna means they are finished.”

The first meeting this morning was with Mr. Rajnath Singh, President of the BJP party. A lot of the people we meet or will have contact with are from the BJP. We then met with Dr. A. Mallick, Deputy Dean of the Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Govinda Maharaja told Mr. Padmanabhais, “The US Panel of Human Rights issued a condemnation of the Kaz government’s actions; Britain is also objecting. Now we want our motherland, India, to help.” Mr. Padmanabhais accepted this and seemed to appreciate very much Govinda Maharaja’s delivery.

We met with the Indian Opposition Leader this morning, Mr L K Advani. The meeting was a great success. Govinda Maharaja spoke clearly and convincingly about the situation, and Rati Manjari made clear the real legal predicament the devotees are facing.
