Pundarik Vidyanidhi, when he came to Navadvip, Mukunda Datta told Gadadhar Pandit, "There is a great Vaishnava here. I will take you to see him." So, they went. The house of Pundarik Vidyanidhi, after entering inside Gadadhara Pandit saw something that was unbelievable, totally unpalatable to him.

Take an example like Hayagriva Prabhu. As far as I could see he went back home back to Godhead, by Prabhupada’s causeless mercy. So who cares, what stupid things and mistakes he did in this world, if he’s back home, back to Godhead?

The chanting of the Holy names must continue. Srila Prabhupada said we can do without temples, we can do without everything. We don't need money. If we can get it, we will use it. We don't need property. If we get it we will use it. We don't need vehicles. If we get it we will use it. We don't need good PR, Public relations. If we get it we will use it.

Arjuna was fighting it for Krsna, not for sense gratification. Prabhupada explains devotees have to cultivate being free from envy, from pride, and a devotee should be everyone's well-wisher, not trying to defeat others and be better than others but to serve others, that is Vaisnava.

In 1971 I was a devotee of Lord Siva, I was traveling from the area Pashupatinatha to Amarnatha for a pilgrimage in month of August. Very crowded third class train, didn’t sit down for about 40 hours. Finally the train stopped and I wanted to somehow or other to move, so I crawled over people’s heads, somehow I pulled myself out of the window, because I had these attachments.

I believe the legacy of Srila Prabhupäda's love and faith in Bhakti Svarupa Damodara Maharaj will forever shine in the pages of Vaisnava history.

Sometimes impersonalists chant the holy name of Krishna. Sometimes people who are too much aspiring for material enjoyment approach the holy name. But Krishna doesn’t properly reveal himself to people who don’t have the proper devotion. So we must be very sincere. It is so simple.

We should know that any facility to enjoy in this material world is maya’s trick to somehow or other distract away from the urgent need to be Krishna conscious. Listen carefully to Srila Prabhupada’s voice when you listen to his lectures. There is always that deep sense of trying to give us the feeling of urgency. It has to be done now!

A devotee has given his whole life to serve this mission, and then he becomes very sick. He needs help. He lays sick on the floor “I can't do my service.” And we say, “You are in maya. You are not the body.” “Thank you. Philosophically it's true: I am not this body and I am in maya, but I need your help to get out of maya and transcend this body. I need the love, support and care of a Vaisnava to take me through this.”

Our temples, it is so very important that we learn the science of properly giving and receiving the association of devotees. Actually every guest that comes is Krishna’s specially invited guest. And it is our duty to give them every possible opportunity to make spiritual advancement. It is the first priority.

We take vows to serve the spiritual master and the vaishnavas, these are the vows of the devotees and whatever way the husband is performing his vows, to follow that, is the duty of the wife. The duty of the husband is to be Krsna Conscious, to be a dedicated follower of the spiritual master.
