I’ve met Rasa Priya in Los Angeles in early 80’s. She walked with us on Padayatra America in 1989 for about 4 months. She was in charge of Padayatra America “Media” services. She would write articles about Padayatra which were published in many newspapers of Southern California. She would speak to media interviewers from different TV channels which sometimes we were able to watch after our daily padayatra. She would also play mrdanga sometimes while on padayatra and lead the kirtans. She would pick flowers and make garlands for our beautiful Padayatra Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasandura Deties. She was always very enthusiastic and I loved her association. Later on that same year in 1989 we went on Vraja Mandala Parikrama. At my marriage in Varshana, my Guru Maharaja, HH Lokanath Swami, had asked Rasa Priya to “decorate” me. She painted gopi dots on my forehead and got me some jewelry from the dham. I feel very fortunate to have had her saintly association. I will miss her. Till we meet again my sweet Rasa Priya….My obeisances to you. May you have a safe journey back Home and may we feel the sweetness of Krsna’s hug to you as you arrive, all the way from here. Love you always.

One of the high lights of my devotional life was chanting on the west coast padayatra,with you ,Locanath Swami and all the wonderful devotees.after that we for performed Harinama around central Mexico for a month,then on to the vraja mandala parikrama.We had a blissfull talk in Alachua about all those times when you visited about ten years ago.you will be missed by all .may Krsna and SRILA Prabhupada guide and protect you in your onward spiritual journey.

My deepest condolences to the friends and family of Rasa Priya dd. She spent many years in San Diego, and I was fortunate to have had her association during her time here.
Rasa Priya loved doing plays. She directed and produced many of them, and I was able to land a part in a few of them. Particularly, she rewrote HH Tamal Krishna Maharaja’s play, ‘The Drama of Lord Jagannatha”. I played the part of the Brahmin priest. We rehearsed for months . When it was finally ready for the opening, the temple room was overflowing with guests, and when it was over, the response was overwhelming. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room.
This production was a result of the profound ecstasy she and her father felt by reading HH Tamal Krishna’s book. She wanted to produce the play, but felt it was too long. The original version lasted about 4 hours, and she condensed it to about an hour and a half. The production was performed three times in San Diego, and I think we did it again in Laguna Beach once. It was a smash success. Not only did she rewrite the play and produce and direct it, but she and her father made Jagannatha Deities specially for the play. I think she was in her teens at the time. She also did another play called “The Kidnapping of Rukmini”, and some other plays I don’t remember now.
Her intelligence seemed unlimited, and she was always enthusiastic in whatever she did. Just like Banasura had so many arms, Rasa Priya Mataji had so many talents she didn’t know what to do with them! She could have done anything she wanted.
I cherish those few years I had with this great soul. I hope someday to follow her to eternal life with our Lord Krishna.

Jai Rasa Priya, you will always stay in my heart. As a gurukula sibling and and godsister to my dear departed daughter Jahnavi dasi whom you shared most of your childhood days with in the ashram, I had the opportunity of knowing you. I remember mother Rasa Priya from our ISKCON Padayatra in 1989 when we walked from SF to Tiruana and she was always blissfully engaged in Kirtana rasa that I know she liked so much ,she was a natural devotee born in a devotee family.Srila Prabhupada often stated that demigods line up to take birth in ISKCON, I am sure she has entered Krsnas nitya lilas for futher advancement in KC…I am praying to Giriraja Govardhana to keep her safe at His lotusfeet and engage her in eternal service to Radha Krsna and Lord Caitanya,and Srila Prabhupada
