Krishna had an ecstatic plan for the delight of the devotees. By four pm festival start the sun burst through the clouds, winds died completely, temperatures rose by a good 10 degrees, and hundreds of determined festival goers began pouring through the main gate. Everything returned to total normality just as after seven days Krishna replaced the Govardhan Hill on the ground.

The purpose of this paper is to both establish the importance of the seva of reading Srila Prabhupada's books as well as understanding the essence of the message in Prabhupada's books which is the performance of devotional service, regardless of one's role or place in society.

Krsna Balarama Mandir has initiated five Braj Darshan tours for the pleasure of the devotees. Braj Darshan is a regular guided bus tour for devotees who would like a quick tour of Braj.

Simultaneously, the assembled devotees making rows, circles, hoops, sways, mobiuses, and other intricate geometries danced with the seeming innocence of little children. It was both a sight and experience to behold. With bright smiles on their faces, the devotee photographers seemed to be having a field day, as they monitored their tripod mounted cameras.

This Krishna consciousness movement, before starting, I wrote one letter to Mahatma Gandhi: "Mahatma Gandhi, you have got position. People accept you as a very pious man. Now you have got your sva-rajya, and you are very fond of Bhagavad-gita. Let us preach Bhagavad-gita."

The festival in Ireland was very successful. Manu prabhu had arranged things very nicely. The main tent had dancers from Bhaktivedanta Manor and dramas by Parividha Prabhu. His version of the "Boatman" was superb. There was a very big inflated playground that kept the many children very happy. There were several prasadam tables that were busy all day and all the guests were very happy to be in such a pleasing atmosphere .

If the opulence or knowledge of many millions of universes were clustered together, they would hardly equal a small fragment of the glory of Krsna's holy name. Krsna's holy name is my life. It is the goal of my life. It is the means I will employ to attain the goal of my life

Let hundreds of arrows of harsh words pierce my heart. Let hundreds and hundreds of kicks fall on my head. Let hundreds of days pass where I am unable to get even the smallest meal. Remembering at every moment the fair and dark glories that are my life's treasure, and whose forms are two oceans of sweet nectar, I shall happily live in Vrndavana.

Even in my fallen condition, there is one thing I have full confidence in: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada will continue to shower his causeless Vaishnava mercy on any soul anywhere who has the good fortune to read (or even touch!) Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Srimad-Bhagavatam, Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, any bona fide original publication containing the translations, purports, words given to all us conditioned souls for the next 10,000 years!!!

‘Is your name Bhaskara?’ ‘Yes.’ The sannyasi said, ‘Srila Prabhupada has a message for you. He thanks you very much for the new slippers. You may keep the old slippers. But most importantly, he said, it’s not nice to play tricks on the spiritual master.’”

Srila Prabhupada didn’t say a word. Kirtanananda finally ran down, and Srila Prabhupada asked, “Are you finished now?” When Kirtanananda acknowledged that he was, Srila Prabhupada suddenly began to roar like the lion incarnation.

Now that Vedic astrology has become popular in the West many Western trained astrologers are attempting to fuse the two systems or introduce Western concepts such as the trans-Saturnian planets into the Vedic system. Over the years some Indian astrologers have also attempted to introduce these planets into Vedic astrology.

As ISKCON has grown over the past forty years, the need for first-class spiritual leaders has become obvious. Apart from spiritual training through the morning program, scriptural study and senior guidance, there seems to be a need for learning skills such as inspiring and energizing devotees, respect for devotees from diverse backgrounds, and adapting to rapid change.

The modern media with its vivid depiction of violence portrays anger as a heroic quality, as the quintessential psyche of the macho man. But is it really? Most people recognize that in real life anger is not a pleasant emotion, yet they savor the violent scenes in the movies.

All this amazing spiritual epidemic is nothing short of a miracle, all emanating from Srila Prabhupada’s potent pure achanting. Such are the glories of Gaura-kripa so abundantly flowing from Srila Prabhupada’s heart and lips. The september 18, 2006 newsweek magazine, religion section. the article purports to describe the legacy of the baby boomers and re-examines some of the phenomenom described in 1969 as “the year of the guru”. one of the 15 related questions of the period asks, “which movement, popular in the 60’s and 70’s, was founded in new york by the indian monk Swami Prabhupada?”.

If there is a method for advancing quickly, what is it? The beauty of it is, anyone can do it - married or unmarried, in or out of the temple, renounced or steeped in bhoga-tyaga. But one has to be prepared, because the weapon of detachment – asanga-sastrena BG.15.3, will develop as a natural consequence of sincere chanting.

The only real possession for a devotee is whatever sincerity they can muster up in Srila Prabhupada's service. And even though the person criticizing may not be questioning the other's sincerity, it is often taken that way. The result: We feel discouraged, we sometime lash back at the critic, and often we think: "I'm doing all this hard work, and all I'm getting is questioned and criticized. Is it worth it? Is serving in ISKCON worth it?"

A simultaneous protest took place in New York City. Both demonstrations were timed to intentionally coincide with the “Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions,” held in Kazakhstan. Many human rights groups and international governments, including the United Kingdom and India, are pressuring the Kazakh government to go beyond sponsoring conferences on religious freedom, and instead work to stop bigotry and harassment of religious minorities in their own county.

So giving names, having names and using names are all essential for increasing the personal touch.. Of course as devotees we receive even more mercy when we are given names related to Krsna and His devotees at the time of initiation. These names not only serve as a way of identifying us but they also remind us of the supreme Lord and His devotees and can award us unlimited spiritual benefit, as in the case of Ajamila.

In conclusion, devotees generally rely on their own enthusiasm—sustained effort, not simply fervor--to motivate or inspire others. The brahmana or advanced devotee inspires and cares for others by setting an example, applying structure, and offering discipline based on affectionate relationships.

Religious life imparts to us the vision to see everyone as, in essence, a beloved servant of God. Yet so often the differences between religions underline a feeling of “the other” that turns those who should be friends into enemies. What often follows is behaviour that may not seem very religious at all.

Students interested in Krishnaism found themselves in trouble. Officers of the National Security Service battered Jalil Abdullayev, a student they wanted a confession from. Five other students were forced to sign false statements to the effect that they knew Jalil as a preacher of Krishnaism.

Srila Prabhupad’s first disciple is Acharya Prabhakar. I believe he is still alive. Srila Prabhupad had lived with him in a single room for over three years in Jhansi. They talked all the time and note this, in Sanskrit. Referring to this disciple Srila Prabhupad told me “he speaks Sanskrit better than we can speak in English, he is that expert.

It is said that the Lord's merciful energy is subordinate to His willing power, but in the case of Sriman Mahaprabhu it is the reverse. Mahaprabhu has granted this independence to his krpa-shakti. Mahaprabhu would not have distributed His prema, the most confidential secret, to one and all indiscriminately, if He had not given this independence to His krpa shaktri.

Krishna devotees had much to celebrate Saturday as hundreds held their first-ever Festival of Chariots in downtown Orlando, turning Lake Eola’s surroundings into a kind of “Little India” for several hours.

Last month there was held the first of two recent conferences in Kazakhstan about religious liberty. ISKCON devotees attended that conference, and our case was brought to the attention of the whole convention by scholars and other delegates from the UK and the USA–who pointed out that religious freedom principles were being violated by the hosts of the conference– the Kazakh government.

At first I was afraid of how people who knew me would react, but soon I saw that this was an advantage in book distribution. After a while the Lord gave me even more mercy and courage, and I started saying a new mantra to all the people who I didn't know: "Are you from this town?"

The idea is to absorb one's senses in Krishna -- to see his form, to taste food and to smell incense that is offered to him, to read about his pastimes and, mostly, to hear the chanting of his names. This creates a sort of "wrap-around awareness" that engulfs you in the spiritual world. And by being so engulfed, you remember what you have long forgotten.
