Some years ago one leader told me an interesting story that highlights this point. One of his senior managers/preachers in his area of responsibility was having some difficulty and had had a recent fall down. This leader, in consultation with a few senior god brothers, decided a course of action and rectification with the explicit aim of strengthening this devotees spiritual life and hopefully have him return to his regular duties as soon as it was clear that he had fully recovered from his difficulties.

When acting according to scriptural direction, under the guidance of the Lord's representatives, and for the purpose of pleasing the Lord - you will begin to see that such actions are uplifting, liberating and beneficial for all, while you are simply being an instrument, personal qualifications/disqualifications notwithstanding.

Krishna has used me as his instrument, 1) to help Andrew, 2) to give me a sharp lesson in understanding that no matter how much we feel useless, every devotee has a part to play and 3) That devotee association is vitally important to spiritual development. Who am I? I am really proud to admit that I am a devotee of Lord Krishna.

This chanting is very scientific. Prabhupada used to say it is very scientific. Scientific means we are doing it, practicing it. Srila Prabhupada says if we chant 16 rounds. Srila Prabhupada says all the Hare Krishna people are the best scientists.

The I-Foundation, in cooperation with Bhaktivedanta Manor in London, is seeking qualified writers, researchers, and artists to create and compile Vedic-based educational materials for children ages 3-7 that will meet the requirements of the UK National Curriculum. The service will start in December 2006 and continue until April 2008.

Every year for 20 years the Vraja Mandala Parikrama has celebrated GOVARDHAN PUJA at Varsana. The festival is always very sweet. The devotees bulid a beautiful duplicate of GOVARDHAN HILL and a sublime cow dung murti of GIRIRAJ KRSNA.

I would like to share with other devotees photos from Govardhan Puja and Go Puja in Czech Republic, farm Krishna's court. It was the biggest and the best Go Puja we had so far!

Today is such a sad day to remember as Srila Prabhupada disappeared from our external vision, one of the things that mitigates separation from Srila Prabhupada is reading his letters. I recall in Vrindavan every day devotees put a letter on Srila Prabhupadas desk, and devotees after mongal artik would come to Srila Prabhupadas house and pay obaisences and chant there, it is such beautiful rooms.

You can see how Srila Prabhupada pulled all these diverse personalities from diverse backgrounds with diverse understandings of Krsna consciousness and threw us all together in the same room--I had not slept with twenty men in a room for many years, not since I'd become a devotee--and united us in one goal: to spread Krsna consciousness. That was it. We were there for that.

Science "conquered" space – and realized how little it knew about space. To the uninformed, space missions proved human greatness. To the well informed, they showed human smallness. Space research reveals that there are more stars in the universe than all the grains of sand on all the beaches of earth, and our sun is just one of these cosmic grains.

The movement, said Vineet Chander, an ISKCON spokesman, has grown up. Like the devotees themselves. Now, Chander said, the children of the original devotees are raising their own children in “Krishna consciousness.” They’re integrating their beliefs, he says, with daily life.

I was recently inspired. It was the 2nd day of our GBC meetings this year. I was completely absorbed the whole day, which for me is not something very easy. I am not so inclined to meetings, but on this 2nd day of our GBC meetings, there was only one subject, and that was book distribution.

A man of God is in town to challenge Darwin. Researcher Michael A. Cremo, like many of Darwin’s critics, doesn’t believe that man descended from monkeys. But unlike most of them, he turns Darwinian theory on its head, using the Vedas, believe him or not. “We haven’t evolved from monkeys. We have devolved from pure consciousness,” he says.

Sometimes impersonalists chant the holy name of Krishna. Sometimes people who are too much aspiring for material enjoyment approach the holy name. But Krishna doesn’t properly reveal himself to people who don’t have the proper devotion. So we must be very sincere. It is so simple.

I wanted to express my convictions today, not based upon my position as an “authority”, but from a personal and open-hearted viewpoint of someone who has had 27 years of experience in ISKCON. If you see any validity to these years of experience, then maybe when I open my heart to you, it may influence you, in some small way, to understand why I feel that this counselor system is important.

Now I have 170 names, and every year I go to visit at least 50 of them. Every year the month of January is dedicated to follow-up. After the Christmas marathon I relax for one week and then I start to prepare follow-up, making the phone calls to the busiest ones. Then I start to prepare all the sweets. My wife is helping me with that.

With great concern I have been informed that some temples do not follow the calculated times of fasting in their time zone and this may well cause many persons to fast on dasami instead of ekadasi, some devotees follow the Mayapure calendar still, but this may be many hours ahead like here in US and cause one to start fasting on Dasami.

After a very nice GBC meeting in Italy I finally made it to Vrndavana to join the VRAJA MANDALA PARIKRAMA. The first morning we were delayed by a car accident on the way to Govardhana parikrama. I was not hurt but HH Lokanatha Swami was injured and I went with him to the the hospital. He was bandaged and sent home and I was able to join the parikrama party at Govinda Kund.

There is a growing sense of unease about the effectiveness of our current preaching paradigms in Western cities. The rising number of ads calling for pujaris, cooks, and preachers to reinforce existing ISKCON temples is a visible indicator that recruitment from the general public has slowed down drastically.

The whole point of our movement is to try to maintain and increase our consciousness of Krishna, and simultaneously avoid anything that may decrease it. His consciousness of Krishna is by far the most precious asset of a devotee, and he / she should be constantly vigilant not to loose it.

They’re vultures, and their civilization is vulture-eater. The animal-eaters, they’re like jackals, vultures, dogs. They’re similar to these animals, the animal-eaters. It is not human food. Here is human food. Here is civilized food, human food. Let them learn it. Uncivilized, rudes, vultures, raksasas, and they’re leaders!

At the end of one of lectures Srila Prabhupada asked for questions. One middle-aged man - apparently a Christian - stood up and said, "I am afraid there is no religiosity present here whatsoever!" Srila Prabhupada responded immediately, with a look of genuine concern, "Oh, you are afraid?"

Still, after the disappearance of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta, a black period was there. Who fulfilled Mahaprabhu’s prediction? Bhaktivinode Thakur started. Because India was blindly following the West, he thought that the books and teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu should be presented in English‚ and that this science should be taught in the Western world.

This official attitude fuels social intolerance of religious freedom. Kamaliddin Saidov, a Khorezm resident and Krishna devotee, was imprisoned with his wife by his father for fifteen days in a separate room. His father demanded that he renounce his faith and forced Saidov and his wife to eat meat and drink vodka (Krishna devotees do not eat meat or drink alcohol). When they would not deny their beliefs, Saidov's father expelled them from the house after seizing all their documents.

I have noticed within myself a tendency to oscillate between intense self-abnegation to almost complete languor in regards to monitoring my attachment to material sense pleasure. I never noticed this until I started to write this paper so I think that perhaps I am being shown an area I need to improve in based on the impetus of this essay.
