This summer we had over 25 Rathayatras. Usually two every weekend. These occured in cities where there were small congregational groups of devotees who would organise premission from the police for the procession and the festival afterwards.

The day after our last festival in Poland, I boarded a flight for India and landed the next morning in Delhi. I was going down a flight of stairs leading to Immigration and Customs when my knees buckled and I began to fall. A large man grabbed me from behind in the nick of time.

There was a flurry of excitement and joy as the panel of judges announced the All India Bhaktivedanta Swami Literary Quiz winners in Vrindavan yesterday.

After the Woodstock festival we went back to our programs on the Baltic Sea coast. We were exhausted but determined to make it through the last seventeen days of our tour. There might be some austerities, but the satisfaction of sharing Krsna consciousness with thousands of people would far outweigh any discomfort.

The first ever Daytona Beach Rathayatra festival was celebrated on September 12, and in spite of ever-threatening rain, the parade turned out to be a blissful and well-attended affair. The festival was very nicely organized by Bhadra and Balavanta prabhus in conjunction with the Hindu Society of Daytona Beach, and was a huge success!

The quality of any relationship is guaranteed only if we know how to appreciate the qualities of others and the quality of realization per se. The lack of such appreciation produces lack of relationships. To overcome this, the first indispensable step is learning how to recognize the value of others.

In his diaries, HH Indradyumna Maharaja writes that Shridhar Swami trained him up in his early days of sannyasa. However, even though I’m light years from a sannyasi, I received the best guidance from him because I was fixed up by Shridhar Swami in Kirtan Sagar

Arguably the highlight of the day though was the contribution of the Lord Mayor. She arrived shortly after the stage show began and took a seat reserved for her. She was curious about the drama that had just started, which was called the three modes of material nature and she followed it closely. I asked her would she like something to eat and to my surprise she said "Yes please, I've been looking forward to this all day" Usually dignitaries are a little more circumspect when offered food and generally have to be cajoled into taking prasadam, so her response was very refreshing. While her plate was being prepared, she revealed that whenever she gets the chance she likes to eat at Govindas!

The festival begins with inauguration on 14 February and continues upto 1 st March. Gaura Purnima falls on 28th February. To commemorate the 500 years of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Sannyasa anniversary, devotees will visit Katwa- the place where Mahaprabhu took Sannyas on 27th February

The Mauritian yatra inundated the island with the ecstatic chanting of the holy names during the World Holy Name Week which lasted from the 2nd to the 11th of September

Every evening, in front of the temple a Japathon table was set up with beads, pledge forms, and score cards. A devotee was there at the table to encourage people to participate in the Japathon, teach them to chant, and answer their questions.
