Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Here are the final results on the âMSF of Clearing Unwanted Things from the Heartâ that were offered at the Nrsimha Caturdasi festival held at the ISKCON of Silicon Valley (ISV) temple on Friday May 4th:
om namo bhagavate tubhyam
“O my Lord, full of six opulences, O Supreme Person! O Supreme Soul, killer of all miseries! O Supreme Person in the form of a wonderful lion and man, let me offer my respectful obeisances unto You.”
The ISV Team goals of this Monthly Sankirtana Festival were:
To distribute at least 2500 books (or book points) including 25 or more Srimad Bhagavatam sets
To write a story about Lord Nrsimhadeva for publication
To distribute books at an event (or mini-festival)
To hear the pastimes of Lord Nrsimha via conference call andTo conduct workshop/classes on the study of Anartha-nivritti
We are pleased to report that all these goals have been met. Serving in the spirit of Nrsimhadeva’s causeless mercy and following in the footsteps of Prahlada Maharaj, ISV devotees took part in this Sankirtana yagna of Anartha-nivritti throughout the month of April. Devotees heard the pastimes of Prahlada Maharaj, the killing of Hiranyakasipu and the inconceivable feats of Lord Nrsimhadeva from the readings of the 7th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam led by HG Vaisesika Prabhu and concluded today, with some readings conducted by a team of ISV devotees during temple programs. An article about Lord Narahari, inviting devotees to attend todayâs Narasimha Caturdasi program, was published in Dandavats.com. A workshop on Anartha-nivritti, the process of freeing oneself from unwanted desires in the heart, was presented by HG Vaisesika Prabhu at last Wednesday nightâs Gita class.
On Friday, April 20th, Team ISV members performed Hari Nama Sankirtana in Palo Alto and on three successive weekends beginning April 14, they did massive book distribution all over the Bay Area. A major highlight of this MSF was the widespread distribution of Srimad Bhagavatam sets. This occurred during door-to-door distribution at several apartment complexes in East and South Bay, at the work place in corporate America, during temple and house programs, at an Indian store and a community center (ICC), and through distribution to friends. Devotees who participated in Bhagavatam set distribution and their enthusiasm were acknowledged and conveyed in reports submitted by Sri Krishna Purushottama Pr, Manish Pr, Srivasa Pandit Pr, Kameshvari & Sukheshvari Mtjs, Swati Mtj, and Shraddha Mtj who single-handedly distributed 10 sets in the corporate work place.
During this MSF, books were distributed at a Japanese Cherry blossom festival held at the
Cupertino Community Center and also at other spots. The Sunday school kids distributed 5 Srimad Bhagavatam sets and 210 other books (for a total of 858 points).
