Last Monday, 21st of August, 300 devotees took part in the Harinama in Amsterdam. It was the biggest Harinama ever held in Holland.

The same group performed Harinama in Guernsey, Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao (Spain) and tommorrow in La Rochelle, France. Many books are being distributed.

The Harinama in Spain was covered live on National Television and Radio, and the following day it made the front page of the Gallicia Newspaper. Footage of the recording will be used to make a special documentary film. Also see 197 pics from the event here:

This is all possible because of the powerful association of Their Holiness’s Radhanatha Swami, Bhakti Charu Swami, Sacinandana Swami, Candramauli Swami and Bhakti Purusottama Swami along with Mother Malati and HG Yadubara Prabhu. In Holland HH Lokanatha Swami, HH Kadamba Kanana Maharaja, and the local GBC Hrdaya Caitanya Prabhu led the Harinama. In Spain HH Yadunandana Swami communicated with the Mayor and other local officials.

The spirit amongst the devotees is reaching heights of ecstasy.
The main person who organized the permissions, the presence of the government representatives and the wide media coverage was His Grace Devasekhara Prabhu and should be honored for his wonderful service. Besides Devasekhara Prabhu it were Vinod-Vihari and Hema Gauri Prabhus from Malaga, Spain, who took the initiative to organize the Harinam in Santiago De Compostella.

It is very nice to spread the chanting of the Holy Name…
    “Be thy Name glorified…!”

But, we should not minimize the impact of a choregraphic presentation, all the more when there is some media coverage, with coordinated dancing, flags, costumes, etc. and not just simply going for a walk (nicht nur spazieren) in a disorderly manner…

In that regard, as well as in many other fields, organization has some virtue…

Besides, distributing some leaflets in various languages (especially in the local language), explaining what we’re doing, how the Sankirtan Movement originated, etc. is always auspicious, as it helps people watching us, understand what we’re doing and thereby relate to us in closer and often more amical way.

Similarly, the distribution of prepacked cookies or halava or any other form of prasadam, is always welcome and increases the popularity of the performance of public Harinam…

    Jaya Sacinandana Gaura Hari !
    Jaya Sri Nityananda Rama !
Sri-Sri Harinam Sankirtan ki Jaya !

My name has been written as the communicator with the Mayor and local authorities at Santiago. Although I did attend the event and greeted the authorities, the main person who arranged the permission, the political authorities┬┤participation, and the massive press attendance was Devasekhara Prabhu. He worked very hard and did an excellent job. All credit goes to him in this regard.

I did participate in this wonderful event. However, the main person behind all the practical arrangements with the legal permissions, the Major representatives, and the massive press coverage was Devasekhara Prabhu. He worked very hard for it and did an excellent job. All credit goes to him.

It was the best Harinama ever in Santiago de Compostela. It is a place visited by people from all over the world, due to its famous pilgrimage route. After the Harinama I was reflecting that we should make a plan to open an ISKCON centre there, in which prasadam distribution, kirtans, and lectures are offered to both the local people and to the visiting pilgrims.

I humbly request to all the devotee readers all blessings so that, a centre can be opened in that international place. I anticipate that it will be a great success.

    Hare Krishna. Jaya Srila Prabhupada.
