Service Opportunities at ISKCON Philadelphia

Saturday, 01 February 2014 / Published in Message Board / 2,497 views

Dronacarya dasa: The ISKCON Philadelphia Temple, with the support of the North American GBC and a local transitional council, has recently undergone a re-organization and is now under new management. We are reaching out to the ISKCON community in hopes that we will be contacted by devotees who are interested in becoming part of and serving at the Philadelphia Temple. Areas of service needed are: Deity Seva, Cooking, Book Distribution, Harinam Sankirtan, Congregational Preaching, Maintenance and Gardening.

The Philadelphia Temple is presided over by three sets of Deities – Sri Sri Radha Shardvihari, Jagannatha, Baladeva and Lady Subhadra, and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. The temple building is located in the historical suburban-like neighborhood of Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. Its’ diverse, eclectic and friendly population make it a place ripe for preaching. Many college classes attend our Temple services as part of their curriculum.

Just minutes from downtown Center City which can be accessed by area trains and buses, it is an easy commute if needed for preaching. Downtown Philadelphia is home to many museums, vegetarian restaurants (including a popular Govinda’s restaurant), parks, universities and cultural entertainment venues making it a prime location for spreading the mission of Lord Caitanya.

The Philadelphia Temple hosts a vibrant Sunday Love Feast and has an active congregation that is service minded and family friendly.

Preference will be given to initiated devotees living in the North America. If you are interested in serving with us please contact either Vishnu-gada dasa at, Balabhadra dasa at, or Dronacharya dasa at

We look forward to hearing from you!
