New high quality jewelery for Mayapur Deities
Thanks for your interest. My name is Nikunja Mandira dasi. I live in Mayapura and one service I have for the Deities is making their jewellery. Our temple Deities should have the best of everything, naturally, and so it saddens me when we are not able (or willing) to provide them with better quality items. I really want to make their jewellery from higher quality materials, so I am asking for your help.
My primary focus is the jewellery of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava and their eight Sakhis. If we can make really nice sets for Them, we may also make sets for Sri Sri Panca-tattva, Sri Prahlada-Nrsimhadeva, and Sri Sri Jagannatha-Baladeva-Subhadra at our temple up the road in Rajpur. I am not the only person making jewellery, so the more materials the better!
It has been my long-cherished desire to make Sri Sri Radha Madhava some special sets of jewellery, but I don’t have the individual funds to make it happen. Now, with the help of generous devotees and friends I believe my dream can be realized. Our target fund is around GBP 1000. This is needed to make complete sets of earings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets for at least all ten full-sized Divine Personalities on Radha-Madhava’s altar. I want the stones we use to be high grade crystals of varying shapes, sizes and colours, with not one fragment of coloured plastic anywhere in sight. My plan is to use Swarovski crystals.
I have been making jewellery for Deities in ISKCON for almost 15 years. This was my first service for Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai at our small temple in Kiev, and I am very grateful that I can still make this small offering every now and then. It really is a wonderful experience to see the Lord wearing the specific jewellery that you invested time and thought into making, to see its beauty truly realized when it decorates Him, and to see Him looking so beautiful wearing it.
Below you will see some pictures of the things I have in mind, and as I get about making the items that are sponsored by your donations, I will upload the photographs. If we have enough items, there might even be a book to make so that devotees can learn the art and create designs of their own.
I promise that all contributions received will be put towards the cost of high grade materials and I hope you will appreciate the finished products, especially when you see them on the smiling forms of our beloved Lordships. Hare Krsna!
