ISKCON Leicester will host Kirtan Fest, 24 hours of Kirtan on 26-27 September, 2015, in celebration of Holy Name Week.
Hundreds of devotees from all over the UK will participate in the two-day festival at the Centre at 31 Granby Street, Leicester, 9am-11pm on Saturday, and 9am-7pm on Sunday.
The cream of kirtan leaders from around Europe will be attending this year’s Kirtan Fest, including Ananda Monet, Caitanya Cintamani Devi Dasi, Nitai Kirtan Das, Hari Kirtan Das, Nimai Gadhvi, Jay Krishna, Birju and Kishori Jani, Ravi Pattni, and many others.
There will also be observance of the appearance of Bhaktivinode Thakur, and disappearance of Haridas Thakur over the weekend, and a maha street harinama on the Saturday night.
Kirtan 101—a seminar on kirtan practice, tips, and techniques will be facilitated by on the Friday night (25th September), by Caitanya Cintamani Devi Dasi, Director of Music, Kirtan Academy, Sri Mayapur Dham.
“We often hear the quote ‘dance like nobody is watching, sing like nobody is listening,’, says Caitanya Cintamani Devi Dasi. “But in kirtan we must do even better than this, because it is none other than our dear Lord Krishna who watches and listens to us! What could be more wonderful than this?
“We would like to invite devotees to join this special audience with Krishna over the weekend and experience the glory of kirtan.”
Prashadam will be served to all over the weekend.
