Parasuram dasa: Now what has a Eco Demo got to do with Krishna Consciousness?

Well according to Bhagavad Gita – everything!

Chapter 6: Sankhya-yoga
yo mam pasyati sarvatra
sarvam ca mayi pasyati
tasyaham na pranasyami
sa ca me na pranasyati

yah—whoever; mam—Me; pasyati—sees; sarvatra—everywhere; sarvam—everything;
ca—and; mayi—in Me; pasyati—he sees; tasya—his; aham—I; na—not;
lost; sah—he; ca—also; me—to Me; na—nor; pranasyati—is lost.

For one who sees Me everywhere and sees everything in Me, I am never lost,
nor is he ever lost to Me.

A person in Krsna consciousness certainly sees Lord Krsna everywhere, and
he sees everything in Krsna. Such a person may appear to see all separate
manifestations of the material nature, but in each and every instance he is
conscious of Krsna, knowing that everything is the manifestation of Krsna’s
energy. Nothing can exist without Krsna, and Krsna is the Lord of
everything—this is the basic principle of Krsna consciousness.

Or we just have to glance through the Srimad Bhagavad second canto , “first
step in God realisation”, and we get the connection.

So the organisers invited us to Parliament Square with tens of thousands of
young conscientious school children, teenagers and teachers. Our
generation had failed to impress the politicians and decision makers, but
here were the next generation of people who felt they wanted to make a
difference to the world and the media was taking them seriously.

Chapter 14: The Three Modes of Material Nature
sattvat sanjayate jnanam
rajaso lobha eva ca
pramada-mohau tamaso
bhavato ‘jnanam eva ca

sattvat—from the mode of goodness; sanjayate—develops; jnanam—knowledge;
rajasah—from the mode of passion; lobhah—greed; eva—certainly; ca—also;
pramada—madness; mohau—illusion; tamasah—from the mode of ignorance;
bhavatah—develops; ajnanam—nonsense; eva—certainly; ca—also.

>From the mode of goodness, real knowledge develops; from the mode of
passion, grief develops; and from the mode of ignorance, foolishness,
madness and illusion develop.

Since the present civilization is not very congenial to the living
entities, Krsna consciousness is recommended. Through Krsna consciousness,
society will develop the mode of goodness. When the mode of goodness is
developed, people will see things as they are. In the mode of ignorance,
people are just like animals and cannot see things clearly. In the mode of
ignorance, for example, they do not see that by killing one animal they are
taking a chance of being killed by the same animal in the next life.
Because people have no education in actual knowledge, they become
irresponsible. To stop this irresponsibility, education for developing the
mode of goodness of the people in general must be there. When they are
actually educated in the mode of goodness, they will become sober, in full
knowledge of things as they are. Then people will be happy and prosperous.
