Malyahari-kunda dasi: The Swedish government wants to ban the right to home-school ones own children. The law might become true from October this year unless there will be a sufficient amount of protest against it. If Sweden takes this step it will be a significant step backwards when it comes to religious freedom and the right to give ones own children the education one wishes. The only other European country where home-schooling is banned is Germany where the Hitler regime forbade it 1938! This in practice means that germans now and then seek and is given asylum in countries such as Canada and the USA.

Swedish devotees and others will be forced to send their children to school. The new school-laws will also make it more difficult to open a free-school such as an own gurukula. And even if you fulfil all the new requirements, a school with a religious profile will no more have the right to mix any of its religious values in to the education. The Swedish school is not a good choice for our children most of the time, because it preaches very openly atheistic principles and is quite detrimental to a spirit of religiousness which is often seen as something negative.
