SSKBK development projects

AN APPEAL FROM
His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami
for SSKBK Development Projects.

OM SRI SURABHYAI NAMAH!
OM SRI GURAVE NAMAH!

Dear devotees,

Please accept the blessings of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai and Sri Sri Krishna Balarama. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

By Krishna’s arrangement and mercy I find myself on an extended stay (lockdown) at the Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Ksetra Rural Project here at Parasuram Ksetra in Udupi District, South Karnataka,
also referred to as Dakshina Vrindavana. April 25, 2020 just happens to be Parasuram Jayanti, the day I am writing this text.

Devotees serving here at SSKBK presently have three major projects that will greatly enhance agriculture production and assure the protection of the 50 plus Malenadu Gidda and Gir cows serving
here.

Our first project involves making a natural pond, 100 x 50 x 8 feet to ensure water storage throughout the year.

The second project involves providing a stone wall foundation to our large agriculture well that will insure drinking water for our cows throughout the year as well as provide ample water for
irrigation.

Our third project is connected with re-aligning our Raja Marga as per Vastu Guidelines that will help create a more auspicious situation at SSKBK.

I welcome your kind support for these three very much needed improvements here at SSKBK.

Please help us more solidly establish this project which is meant to become a prototype of a self-sufficient and sustainable community for the pleasure of the cows, the Brahmanas, the Vaisnavas,
and our Founder Acharya Srila Prabhupada.

Thank you for your kind assistance. Please visit us anytime after the rainy season to witness these much needed and welcomed changes.

Trusting this finds you well and always happy in devotional service to Lord Krishna. Krsne matir astu.

Yours in service to Srila Prabhupada,
R.P. Bhakti Raghava Swami

Dear Devotees,
Please accept our humble obeisances,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

We hope that with the mercy of Krishna and Guru that all are keeping well, especially during the on-going pandemic crisis. The current state of affairs around the world was already predicted
long back by our various Vaisnava acarayas and most recently by HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. The root cause of not only the current crisis but numerous other crises that we have
witnessed and will witness is due to the unnatural, unscientific, unauthorised and adharmic way of life.

Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balaram Kshetra is the on-going effort to encompass Srila Prabhupada’s desire that not only devotees but the entire planet may live in a sustainable, natural and God-centric
lifestyle. In his essay, Conception of Gītā-nāgarī, Srila Prabhupada writes,

The crisis that we are now confronted with is the outcome of the wealth of the world that has been engaged in the service of the External Potency of Godhead. The Gītā-nāgarī, therefore, will
be able to set a noble example for the benefit of the world, as it will show how wealth can be engaged in the service of the Internal Potency of Godhead and thereby bring peace and prosperity to
the world. – The conception of Gītā-nāgarī Part 2

We humbly request all devotees to come forward and support this on-going initiative to create an example for everyone to see how one should live off the land, amongst cows and depending completely
on Krishna.

The two main projects are being undertaken keeping in mind the upcoming monsoons – Protecting our existing agricultural well with stone construction and excavating new agricultural pond.

The building of a pond for water harvesting to make most of the upcoming monsoon season. The harvested water will be used for agricultural needs and for the cows. This will be 100 x 50 x 8 feet
in size. It will hold a little over 11 lakh litres of water. And the approximate expenditure is around ₹4,50,000/-

The existing agricultural well will be cleaned, will be dug more to increase the capacity and then will be constructed with stones to protect it. The total cost is estimated at about 6Lakh rupees.
We are happy to inform you that we have got the sponsor for well stone wall construction already.

And the third project is the re-aligning of the Raj-Marg, making several large and small trenches to avoid soil erosion and re-fencing the whole thing. This is important to properly segregate
the different areas. To prevent the cows from entering restricted portions and also to keep them safe. The approximate expenditure is about  ₹60,000/-

Please come forward and support in this endeavour to help fulfil Srila Prabhupada’s remaining 50% of the mission of spreading the holy name to every town and village.

“Prabhupāda: Our first problem is, because we have got this material body, eating. Everyone must eat. So Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, annād bhavanti bhūtāni: [Bg. 3.14] “If there is sufficient food grains, then both man and animal, they become happy.” Therefore our first religion is to produce food grain sufficiently to feed everyone. Kṛṣi-go-rakṣya-vāṇijyaṁ vaiśya-karma svabhāva [Bg. 18.44]. – Room Conversation with three Trappist Monks, University of Georgia – March 1, 1975, Atlanta.”
