Hare Krishna Dear Devotees,
Please accept my most humble obeisances! All Glories to Srila Prabhupada! All Glories to HariNaam Sankirtan!
On the occasion of World Holy Name Fest-2010, the Devotees at ISKCON Najafgarh, New Delhi (India) have organized Holy Name Seminar, Pandal Programme as well as HariNaam Shobha Yatra (Procession) very enthusiastically in and around Najafgarh. I would like to share some of the highlights of the celebrations with some PHOTOGRAPHS attached as per below link.
First, on 25th September,2010 at our small preaching centre at Najafgarh there was Seminar on Holy Name by HG Sudama Prabhu from Iskcon Chowpatty where around 100 devotees & general public attended the seminar. The next day again a Holy Name Seminar by HG Sudama Prabhu held at Chhawla, where HG Sachipati Prabhu preaches ( I don’t have Photographs of these seminars & so I am not able to attach any)
Then our main Hari Naam Festival was scheduled on 30th September,2010 from 4 PM. Devotees were tirelessly preparing for this festival since month before. So, on 30th morning devotees gathered at Ram Leela Ground at Najafgarh where huge pandal was set up, with huge sound systems, lightings etc. The cooks were on their final stage of pre- prepation of prasadam for 2000 expected crowed.
But, at around 2 PM we received call from our main temple Sri Sri Radha Partha Sarathi Mandir, to cancel all the public programmes for the day. Actually on that day at 3.30 PM the judgement over 100+ years long Land Dispute of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya was to be announced. So, anticipating riots over this sentimental issue the temple authority decided to cancel all public programmes. Also government had appealed not hold any procession after 3.30PM of 30th September. Learning this at 11th hour, the faces of all the devotees here gone down. We had already taken written permission from Delhi Police a day before & the area of Najafgarh is peaceful in this regard. So, devotees requested me to talk to HG Mohan Rupa Prabhu & get permission for procession. So, I called up Mohan Rupa Prabhu & he advised if for any reason something bad happened, it would defame the name of ISKCON & so not to take any risk & distribute prasadam to the local people. Although we were confident that there would not be any problem, still to respect the instructions of senior devotees we decided to cancel the programme. It was 4 PM now & devotees started gathering at the venue with curious face. Then suddenly, I remember the pastimes from Chaitanya Lila when Chand Kaji tried to stop the Hari Naam in Davadwip, Mahaprabhu Himself came forward to lead the procession with thousands & thousand of Torch Lights……..So, I discussed with few devotees & finally decided that we would not go for procession outside, but we would continue HariNaam Festival in the Pandal itself. Then a glimpse of happiness could be seen on the faces of devotees.
So, at around 5 PM devotees started the programme with Kirtan led by HG Bharat Sakha Prabhu, Bh Shyam, Bh Nitish & others. Then HG Sachipati Prabhu gave wonderful Class on the Importance of Congregational Chanting of the Holy Name in the age of Kali. He has narrated various quotations from various scriptures which were really appreciated by devotees as well as general. After the class there were Aarotika & Ecstatic Dancing Kirtans followed by Prasadam distribution to all, although the crowed was much lower than we expected. I feel it is important to mention that HG Bhaktavatar Prabhu, somehow managed to reach & danced as usual whole thru the progeamme! One good thing was that the Delhi Police had deployed Four Policemen outside the pandal who were there until the programme ended. They also took prasadam before leaving.
Then again, on 21st October,2010 we organised Hari Naam Sankirtan Shobha Yatra in Najafgarh as it could not be held on 30th Sept. It was part of Holy Name Fest-2010 although not with the specified dates. It was wonderful as around 60 devotees from Sri Sri Radha Partha Sarathi Temple came with their full Kirtan crew. The Procession went thru the Najafgarh market with 100s of devotees & general public ecstatically dancing & chanting. To mention a few name of the devotees present were, HG Bhaktavatar Prabhu, HG Mohan Rupa Prabhu, HG Balabhadra Prabhu, HG Sarvapriya Prabhu, HG Rishi Kumara Prabhu, HG Sriniket Prabhu, HG Sudhira Prabhu (Russia), HG Sudevi Mataji (Kazakistan), Bh Alberg (Siberia) & many more. It was at all a successful Harinaam. Even on 22nd Oct-2010 Dainik Jagaran (Hindi National News Paper) published a report with a photograph of the procession.
I would take this opportunity to thank all the devotees who tireless served for organizing this event smoothly. In particular Bh Krishna Pranhu, Bh Jatin Prabhu, Bh Yogi Prabhu, & many others from Najafgarh & Chhawla area. My special thanks to HG Sriniket Prabhu for arranging for so many devotees from temple to come for the programme. Also my thanks to HG Sachipati Prabhu, our source of inspiration in Najafgarh for his valuable guidance & Bh Bhim Shankar Prabhu for his all type supports.
I beg forgiveness from all of you for all offences towards you I might have committed knowingly or unknowingly.
