His Grace Aindra Prabhu Ki Jaya !
I wish I would have been present for this occasion. This occasion has a big feeling of ‘harsh’ and ‘shoka.’ We miss him on this day. We had such a wonderful association of him and he used to give so much inspiration especially for kirtan and the Sankirtan Movement. I also like little bit of kirtan, so we are colleagues. I remember the kirtans we did in Kartika in front of Sri Sri Krishna Balarama and also in Mayapur in front of Sri Sri Panca Tattva. He would be sitting right next to me.
So that is the sad part – that he is not with us, but the good part is also that he who has chanted for 25 years has gone back to Krishna, Sri Sri Radha Syamasundara in Vrindavan. I think this is the 25th anniversary of the kirtan that he inaugurated in 1986, when we arrived in Mayapur for the 500th anniversary of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s Appearance. So it’s a landmark and I wish he would have been with us this year also. I think there is going to be a celebration to commemorate the event, the completion of the event of Akhanda (non-stop) kirtan in Sri Sri Krishna Balarama temple which is world-famous for its Akhanda kirtan. Also, this is probably the only temple doing this. Srila Prabhupada wanted this and Aindra Prabhu fulfilled Srila Prabhupada’s desire of having non-stop kirtan in Krishna Balarama temple. All glories to him!
Besides the holy name he was attached to Sri Sri Radha Syamasundara. He would do kirtans in front of Them and would also go on the altar to dress Them up day to day and every week. So, I remember him as the Pujari of Sri Sri Radha Syamasundara. I also remember, whenever I gave classes, he would stand in front of the altar of Sri Sri Radha Syamasundara and sometimes he would also comment. He had a very deep philosophical insight on the realm of Radha Krishna, Manjaris and Gopis. He was into that bhava very much. So he was ….. what can I say?
I think the number of Silas he has is the biggest collection on the planet. I have never seen such a big collection of Saligramas. He also has Vrindadevi and Gaura Nitai.
Just last month I was in his quarters with his Deities and the devotees of the 24 hours Sankirtan Party. There I was also pointed to a clock without hands. A devotee told me that Aindra Prabhu purposely removed the hands of the clock as he believed that Vrindavan is not influenced by the time. It’s transcendental to the time. So what can I say?
I become emotional and speechless on such occasions, so much I miss him. We pray to him as we have a very heavy responsibility of carrying on the 24 hours kirtan at Krishna Balarama temple. I understand that some more devotees have joined and more and more kirtans are going on and in this way they keep him alive. Last time when I was in his quarter I asked them if they would like to see him dead or alive and they said, ofcourse we want to see him alive. Then I proposed they do kirtan and Aindra Prabhu will be there. Wherever kirtan is, he will be there. Where else he can go other than to kirtan. He is almost conditioned by kirtan. He cannot be without kirtan or away from kirtan. So let’s keep performing kirtan, chanting 24 hours and push on his service, his project and that would be a best tribute on this occasion. This is some way to assist his mission and his spirit.
So all of you carry on …..
I was trying to watch on www.iskconvrindavan.com but then I found that all of you are in Balarama hall and not in the temple room. So this is where I get you.
My obeisances to Aindra Prabhu’s lotus feet, to his spiritual lotus feet and to all of you assembled there.
