nava-gaura-varam — fresh excellent gold; nava-puspa-saram — arrows of newly blossomed flowers; nava-bhava-dharam — sustaining ever-new ecstatic moods; nava-lasya-param — absorbed in novel dances; nava-hasya-karam — causing new laughter; nava-hema-varam — beautiful new gold; pranamami — I bow down; saci-suta — the son of mother Saci; gaura-varam — excellent gold.
1) His complexion is the hue of fresh cream tinged with kunkum. He is the ever-fresh Cupid who shoots arrows of newly blossoming flowers. He bears newer and newer moods of emotional ecstasies. He is fond of performing novel dances. He makes ever-new jokes that cause much laughter. His brilliant luster is like freshly cast gold.-I bow down to Gaura, the beautiful Son of Mother Saci.

Regarding the high price of milk from a Cow protect:
One thing is the quality of the milk is many time greater than the difference in price.
And if we learn to take only the required amount of milk, the money spent may be less.
A smaller amount of milk from a genuinely loved cow will satisfy.

It is so enlivening to hear how Sid influenced so many devotees. I pray that may will take up the daily harinam. It is so easy to glorify him. He never did anything wrong.
Even my gigantic false ego shakes when hearing of his transcendental qualities.

Thanks. Mahasrnga (NItyananda Mahajana) prabhu deserves some recognition, althou he does not care. He, or his wife when he travels, do this daily.

We are being inspired to pray more. That is mercy. HH Bhakti Vrajendra nandana Swami’s destination is fixed, to be with Srila Prabhupada.

Brilliant. Everyone will say, of course, it is simple, but without the chanting of the Maha mantra they cannot apply it. The conditioning is so strong but the Holy Name can knock it out . Harinam sankirtan kijay.

I do not know how many times I have answered devotee’s queries with JDI. I just got a new hat with the NIKE check mark on it.
I appreciate how deeply Mahatma prabhu has gone into this. For myself I never get anything done until I JDI.
For waking early all that is needed is a prayer before sleep.
And is correct that matter what, we must “JUST DO IT!”
Adidas has a motto. “impossible is nothing”
Thinking “I can’t” means we we are not depending on Krsna.
I thank Mahatma Prabhu for his constant efforts to help devotees.
Of course anyone who hears his kirtan will forget all the problems.

Thank you for this. Most of us have only served Srila PRabhupada’s vani and often do not understand just how personal that is.
We also relish and learn from hearing from his intimate personal servants.
This also helps us to understand Krsna as a person.

this is very nicely stated. We have so much preaching to do to educate people. Kali is especially attacking India.
“we want a revolution, and we want it now”
we can do more that build big houses in vrndavan.

Happy Christmas (that how they say in UK) happy new year.
it is good time to think a bit about the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ.
1: And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4: Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7: Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8: Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9: Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15: Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.
22: But I say un

New sadhana? Or reviving the old? In my early years in ISKCON I often speak many hours daily just reading SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM. Especially when new volumes kept coming out we were reading so much.
Japa, read and distribute. Simple living and high thinking.
Thank you for for reminding us to get back to basics.

I appreciate Govinda dasi’s opinions here very much and feel that Srila Prabhupada is speaking thru her, in this case. I wrote a comment some time back but do not see it her. Visakha priya devi siad everything i said much more eloquently.

Krsna made this world of pain so we would want to get out.
Many cancer patients say it was the best thing that happened to them. They began to appreciate life.
Thank you Mahatma Prabhu for this essay.

Thank you for this. And than Sikhi Mahiti Prabhu for assisting Ram Keli Prabhu to go back to Godhead. That nature of his departure shows that his service was appreciated by Srila Prabhupada and Krsna
I first met Ram Keli Prabhu in Chicago. I think it was in the showers. I was on TSKP from New Dwaraka. He was visiting the temple regularly. I shaved him up and took him with me to Los Angeles, distributing books along the way. He stayed in New Dwaraka for some time and then was back to Chicago.
I lost track of him for most of the time. I met him in the Ivory Coast and noted how fixed he was on serving Srila Prabhupada. I also noted that his many children were all devotees. That says much for his character.
I met him some years ago in Mayapura and noted that same, he was jolly.
He lost much to Katrina but did not miss a beat.
I pray that I and all of us can learn to appreciate and glorify devotees before they leave this world.

I spent a good part of my career as a strategy consultant, and a favorite quote I liked to use was,
“If you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.”
george harrison used this quote in a song.

I wonder why Srila Prabhupada never gave us this information. In the USA there is a term “brahmana cow”. That refers to the one imported from India. There are different classes of humans, but those who are not Brahmanas are still humans.
I am sorry to say but this sounds similar to the “only Indians can be gurus” that is sometimes propagated. If fact one previous ISKCON member wrote a book about that.
Cows and buffalos do not interbreed, they are different.
I could say more but I will leave it. Srila PRabhupada was happy to drink that milk of foreign cows and to make brahmanas out of melechas.

Thank you for this wonder narration. Amongst many wonderful devotees in Bali, Bhagiratha Prabhu was exceptional.
He visited me, with a nice gift, just as I was leaving Bali , and two weeks later he is gone. He had just returned from taking 20 devotees to India. He made many friends on the Navadvipa parikrama. He is surely missed. Hearing of his life from you is very inspirational
He must be with Gopiparanadaha Prabhu.
Thank you again.

Thank you. These are very important realizations. Lord Caitanya himself liked serving prasadam, but no one would eat until He ate first, so he had to stop.
Jahnavi Mata would cook and then serve all the devotees.

This is wonderful news. She is a great pioneer and a brilliaant preacher. This is a great fortune for the USA. I hope that others get inspired to do the same. There are so many experienced disciples of Srila Prabhupada there.

Reporter: Swamiji, your movement has received a great deal of attention for, at least one reason, because many of your followers dress in what for the West is an odd fashion and relate to the world in what for the West is an odd fashion. Can you respond to that? Why have you asked your followers to dress in this fashion and to play drums on the streets?
Prabhupada: This is our preaching method, some way or other to draw their attention. (laughter)
Devotees: Jaya! Haribol!
Reporter: I’m sure that you’re aware that to many people in the West, in America, in New York City specifically, that your disciples seem strange because of the way they act on the streets. What about that?
Prabhupada: Yes, they must be strange because they are spiritual. You are all material. (laughter) So, for the material persons, we are surely strange people.
Reporter: Is this manifestation the only way to be spiritual, dressing in this fashion?
Prabhupada: No, no, you cannot compete with us. Because we don’t have any illicit sex, we don’t have meat-eating, we have no intoxication, we have no gambling. There’s so many no’s which you are unable to perform.
Reporter: Swami, that wasn’t my question. My question was, is this manifestation, dressing in this fashion, playing drums and dancing in the streets, the only way to be spiritual?
Prabhupada: No, we have got about sixty books. If you want to learn this movement through science and philosophy, we have got our books. You have not seen our books? (laughter)
Reporter: Swami, that isn’t the thrust of my question. Yes, I have. The thrust of my question very simply is this: Can’t people be spiritual without dressing in this fashion and dancing in the street?
Prabhupada: Oh, yes, oh, yes, you can become spiritual in your this dress. Simply you have to learn what it is from the books. The dress… dress is not very important thing, but still, in the material field, this girl is dressed in a different way, you are dressed in a different way.
Reporter: The way we dress lets us move in all circles.
Prabhupada;: No, the thing is, dress is not very important.
Reporter: But you have your disciples dress in this way…
Prabhupada: But just to draw a particular… Just like the policeman, he is differently dressed. One can understand that he is policeman. Similarly, we are also differently dressed so that people may understand we are Hare Krsna people.
Devotees: Jaya! Haribol!

During the final period of Srila Prabhupada’s manifested presence he often spoke of varnasrama. Finally devotees asked him what he meant by varnaasrama.
He said, ” I will go ot GIta Nagari and teach them to live off the land>’

Gaura Keshava Prabhu’s comments are interesting.
“Not all devotees will or should move beyond the Grhastha ashram. ”
And not not ment should move into the grhastha ashram since they have no proper training and so many misconceptions.
We need to have more “barn” ashrams. That is devotees working in agriculture and cow protection.
