HH Romapada Swami in hospital

Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I pray that Krishna cradles Romapada Maharaj in His hands and that He keeps him in His heart.

Instead of only suggesting medication I think we should take a look at some ways we can manage devotees health more naturally. More sattvic preparations, less oil and less salt would be a nice way to start. Some spices such as ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon to name a few, are quite tasty and beneficial to the health. We have many devotees, and especially most of our sanyasis are getting older and need to be a little more watchful of their diets. We should learn from them and start now to improve the quality of the prasadam before we’re all taking medication, which should be, in my opinion, a last resort in our struggle to maintain our bodies so we may be better able to serve Srila Prabhupada’s mission.

"Karmi clothes" and "devotional clothes" - Getting the definitions right

I am a full time temple devotee and I wear nothing but sari. Why? Because I feel it’s better for my consciousness to remember that I am a servant of The Supreme Lord. I’ll often ask matajis,”What do you do that you can’t do in a sari?” They’re hard-pressed to give me an answer.

An interesting note: While I was researching to find out Srila Prabhupada’s instruction on this subject, I came across another article written by Hari-Sauri Prabhu back in 2007. In it I found exactly what I wanted to say:

“Clearly there has to be some standard otherwise the whole process becomes absurd. My proposal is that we should follow Srila Prabhupada’s standards and not try to change them. Whatever was established by His Divine Grace should be accepted by us as being the best way to sustain our spiritual lives.”

I suggest that everyone gives this article a good read as Hari-Sauri Prabhu gives many fine examples of Srila Prabhupada’s mood concerning devotional dress.

End of an Era? An Opportunity!!!

Now is the time to re-institute daily harinam. It worked before and it will work again. We have nothing to lose. Let’s rely on the power of the Holy Name and miracles will happen…guaranteed!

Farewell Bhadra Priya!

So Nice to read about this great devotee. Even though I never met her, her life is an inspiration to me and I hope to may others. Interesting use of the word “nun” though. Is this a new term for brahmacarini that I am not familiar with?
