Sri Sri Guru Gaurangau Jayatah!
I listened attentively to Swami Bhakti Vikash’s long class and have read many comments on it here and elsewhere.
My first point is that the Swami has not fabricated anything, nor has he spoken with malicious intent, or envy. He has supported his realizations, conclusions with reference to Shastra, Guru, and Sadhu.
I feel to attack him for his having the courage to speak his realization is in itself offensive.
He has deeper concern that the food for life programs, which are the subtle influence of mayavadi / impersonal philosophy creeping into the society of devotees.
One may consider how much effort His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada made in writing chapter after chapter, and hundreds and thousands of purports to explain the subtleties of Mayavada. Who did he write his books for? He wrote them for us, his followers, who are the readers of his books! Who are the mayavadis? It is us, we all are born here envious of Krishna, trying to imitate Krishna, we all want to be the center of attention, and we are all diseased. Unless and until we are situated in our swarup, as long as the modes of material nature are affecting us we are still diseased.
Today, we see a lot of intermingling of devotees with other religious groups, interfaith so-called conferences, etc. His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada never mixed with these. He always made it clear that we are here to teach “ananya bhilasita sunyam, jnana karmadi anavrtam” pure unalloyed devotional service untouched by jnana, karma, yoga, etc.
I find that Swami Bhakti Vikash’s point it this and it behooves us to remain fixated on this EKANATA BHAKTI, and not become again enamoured by karma, jnana, yoga, etc.

In Memory of Smt. Amekhala devi
In 1975 Amekhala arrived in Berkeley from Europe with her former husband Manibandha das. So, I have known her and been in contact with her from then until her departure a few days ago. Amekhala always struck me as a very happy person, who it was easy to talk with and open one’s heart. She exemplified the quality of being kind and friendly to everyone.
I know she suffered many challenges in her life, but she never gave up her Krsna Consciousness for a moment, no matter how dire the circumstance.
I am sorry she has left us at a young age, but I am sure she has attained the eternal service of Sri Sri Radha Krsna under Srila Prabhupada lotus feet and is showering her blessing on us.

In the month of Kartik 1992 I was blessed to meet and hear from the lotus
mouth of Srila Bhakti Baibhava Puri Goswami Maharaja for the first time.
During that month I attended his morning and evening darsan and listened
with an open heart to the words emanating from his lotus mouth. At that time
my personal sadhana had virtually ceased and I had practically given up all
hope of ever practicing the regulations of sadhana bhakti in this lifetime.
However, by hearing submissively something magic happened to me. I felt like
My Eternal Father His Divine Grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
was coming so drag me through the agency of his divine and eternal brother.
Really, from that time my life was wholly transformed and for the 17 years
since then, His Divine Grace has been the most dear friend, and guide.
He graciously initiated by son Bhishma deva in 1996 in Vrindaban and my
wife Yashoda in December 2003 in Puri.
For nearly four years I was held prisoner in Orissa from 2000 until 2004,
and most of this time I was staying in a state hospital in Cuttack. His
Divine Grace would regularly come to visit and give some words of
inspiration, some Jagannatha Mahaprasadam, and garlands. I would get a phone
call from his servant Brajendra saying, “Maharaja is coming! He will be
there in 20 minutes!” My wife and I would hurriedly run to get some garlands
some fruit and juice and prepare a seat for this most exalted soul. He
would come and we would wash his lotus feet, and we would have a wonderful
kirtan, and he would say a few words to give us hope and inspiration.
Always when he’d depart he would place his hands on my head and give his
In the last week of 1992 I went to stay in Puri at his headquarters next to
the Gundica Temple, Sri Caitanya Chandra Asharam. There were just a few
sanyassis and brahmacaris there at this time. Daily I would sit for 5-8
hours with Maharaja and he would constantly speak HARI KATHA. Every morning
after breakfast prasadam, he would sit on the steps of the temple in the
nice winter sun and read the Srimad Bhagavatam. He showed me the inside back
cover of his personal Bhagavatam where he has written the dates where he
would begin reading and complete the reading of the entire Bhagavatam for
the past 65 years! Just imagine, for more than 65 years he read all 18,000
verses every single year! Always while he was reading his eyes would be
decorated with tears.

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glory to Srila Prabhupada!
It has been many years since I heard the name of Janakinath Prabhu. He was one of the wonderful brahmacaris in San Franciso in 1974 when I was asked to serve as TP. Jayananda Prabhu loved him deeply, as did I. Janakinatha always had some health problems, and had a difficult time getting up for Mangala Aratik. I remember going personally to his sleeping bag some mornings and ring a big bell beside him to get him out of bed! He would ultimately arrive for aratik.
Jayananda always remarked on how enthusiastic Janakinath is in the kirtan.
I am happy he was living in the devotee community. He made the best use of the bad bargain! My prayers and best wishes for those he has left behind.
Your humble servant,

Dear Bhoja deva Prabhu,
I heard of the attack in Manipur from an inmate in Tihar who wrote me a couple of weeks back. I was informed by MAdhudvisa Prabhu last Friday that you were one of the victoms, and today I received this news update on your situation.
My prayers and best wishes are with you. Are you in Thailand? From the article I read it seemed so.
Please let me know how you are doing and if there is anything I may do to assist you.
Your humble servant,
