The Ill Effects Of Non-Vaisnava Foods
I remember that whenI joined “grains cooked by karmis” were condemned. Now I see many devotees eating store bought bread. Most will check that there are no eggs.
Some seem to think that if they toast the bread then it is prepared by devotees.
Any comments on this.??Comment Posted By kavicandraswami On 21.06.2010 @ 00:59
Iskcon Prison Ministry - From the Mouth of Inmates
Very blissful report. Keep up the work. I have seen many households with large collections of KC CDs, most of which they rarely use. I hope yo can get thru to some of them and get a big collection for the prisoners.
Whenever I see such a collection I will ask for some for the prisoners.

Is Astrology Useful in Krishna Consciousness? Part One – The Panchang
I read you article about the lunar eclipse. I heard it all before in a much more pleasing presentation:
Songwriters: Fogerty, John
Credence Clearwater RevivalI see a bad moon a-rising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earth quakes and lightnin’.
I see bad times today.
Don’t go ’round tonight
It’s bound and take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes a-blowing,
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
Don’t go ’round tonight
It’s bound and take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Look’s like we’re in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.
Don’t go ’round tonight
It’s bound and take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise. Was John an astrologer???
I wonder if we could stick more to the aupiciousness of the Sankirtana movement and all good that it can bring about?

A BG perspective on Avatar movie
One need not see the movie in order to use it for distributing books.
Excuse me. Have you heard of Avatar? Have you seen the movie. Far out, eh? Do you know where the word comes from? These books explain about many ancient Avataras. All of them had amazing powers.
Any book distributor will be able to have a nece conversation.

For distributing books.:
“Excuse me, have you heard about ‘Avatar?’
Most will say “of course”
From there any distributor can strike up a conversation. We can give an explanation of the term. Or just say that this book explains about many ‘avataras’ . Do you know where the word comes from?

The debate over Srila Prabhupada’s rising sign
for thought
graha nimittam sukha-duhkhayos cet
kim atmano ‘jasya janasya te vai
grahair grahasyaiva vadanti pidam
krudhyeta kasmai purusas tato ‘nyah
SYNONYMS
grahah — the controlling planets; nimittam — the immediate cause; sukha-duhkhayoh — of happiness and distress; cet — if; kim — what; atmanah — for the soul; ajasya — who is unborn; janasya — of that which is born; te — those planets; vai — indeed; grahaih — by other planets; grahasya — of a planet; eva — only; vadanti — (expert astrologers) say; pidam — suffering; krudhyeta — should become angry; kasmai — at whom; purusah — the living entity; tatah — from that material body; anyah — distinct.
TRANSLATION
And if we examine the hypothesis that the planets are the immediate cause of suffering and happiness, then also where is the relationship with the soul, who is eternal? After all, the effect of the planets applies only to things that have taken birth. Expert astrologers have moreover explained how the planets are only causing pain to each other. Therefore, since the living entity is distinct from these planets and from the material body, against whom should he vent his anger?
