Money Sweeter Than Honey

Hare Krsna Puskaraksha prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada
All Glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga

First let me thank you for your interest in varnasrama dharma.
I read your ‘technical’ queries related to money and economic structure with great interest. Superficially it may appear that a society economically supported by just one varna and ashrama may crash down, but interestingly the moment we remind ourselves of the fact that varnasrama is Lord’s own creation as He declares in Bhagavad-gńętńĀ 4.13: ‚Äúc√§tur-var√ęya√† may√§ s√•√Ī√∂a√† gu√ęa-karma-vibh√§ga√ßa√Ļ‚ÄĚ [According to the three modes of material nature and the work associated with them, the four divisions of human society are created by Me…] many of our doubts will be cleared.
Further, since the Lord Himself is the creator of varnasrama, this too is to be understood as perfect and complete like His ownself:
om purnam adah purnam idam / purnat purnam udacyate
purnasya purnam adaya / purnam evavasisyate [Invocation, Isopanishad.]
[The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.]
Though technically it may appear that one varna/ ashrama cannot support the rest three and still be good and self-sustainable…IT WILL.
If the Lord can capture countless generations of trees/lives in one tiny seed, cannot He do this? Let us just simply try to follow what the Lord has instructed us, the rest will follow. The problem is we have so farther away from the ideal, that a return seems very difficult, so much so that it borders on impossibility. BUT still it is POSSIBLE, simply because it also happens to be the desire of a pure devotee of the Lord, Srila Prabhupada. I presume, you have already read the varnasrama newsletter (THE EIGHT PETALS) issue that focused on ‘money’ (as your comment indicates in the other section dealing with the release of the concerned newsletter).
Thank you once again for your interest and support to the revival of Daivi-varnasrama dharma!
Aspiring to serve,
Vrndavanlila dd

Hare Krishna Puskaraksa Das prabhu,

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada
All Glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga

Thank you so much for your mail and interest in Varnasrama dharma, the inevitable spiritual revolution that is bound to take over the world - simply because it was desired by a vaishnava like Srila Prabhupada.
Your mail is so important as it helps me improve the quality of my service to Srila Prabhupada and the Lord, where I had faltered…
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused because of failed link.
Now I have checked it myself and it is working. The newsletter is available on three websites:
- www.varnasrama.org (which i have already shared here)
- Iskcon desire tree: http://ebooks.iskcondesiretree…..Petals.pdf (the url has been given by Gour Gopal prabhu)
- http://ngarayana.web.ugm.ac.id/ (This one is a website in Indonesian language, but this page is in English)
I am so glad to receive such encouraging words. See the mercy of Sri Guru, we just try to do just a little, so miniscular and yet we are showered by so much of kind words!

Feel free to mail me if faced by any problems or further information.

In the service of Srila Prabhupada, I am
Your humble servant,
Vrndavanlila dd

Leadership Crisis

Hare Krishna Yugal Krishna prabhu,

It is certainly encouraging to see your interest in the varnasrama dharma. The questions that you have raised are quite pertinent. While Maharaj would answer them, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that originally His Holiness’ article had appeared in the newsletter- THE EIGHT PETALS. (www.varnasrama.org) The issue for that month had a focus on “Administration”. So the article is very much contextual here. By brining out the aspects of administration and leadership, instead of mitigating the importance of other classes or varnas as it may appear here, it just attempts to explain “kshatriya” class better. Hope it clarifies a few of your doubts.

In the Dungeon With Shridhar Swami

Hare Krishna Patita Pavan Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada

Thanks for sharing your valuable experiences with us. It is very moving and at the same time very inspiring.
In the age of Sri Ram, Sitaji was hospitable to her ’sannyasi’ guest (Ravana) despite Laxman’s instruction not to step outside the ‘rekha’. Though it proved to be a snare and she got kidnapped by Ravana for her effort to keep up those cultural values, but till this day Sri Ram is considered “Purshottam”, while every woman’s model of virtuousity is Sitaji. I feel sad that a country that was once known for its spiritual wealth and cultural heritage has now fallen to such an extent that it happens to violate both in this particular instance.
It feels like I am reading pages from “The Salted Bread”. May the munificent Lord help them realize their blunder and grow.
Amidst this murk, Maharaj’s figure presents a stark contrast. All Glories to Shridhar Swami Maharaj.
Thanks once again for sharing this experience in such a transparent manner that it brings that piece of life right in front of our eyes.

Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada

The Eight Petals

Hare Krishna Patita Pavan prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Your words make me proud to belong to the big & beautiful family of Srila Prabhupada. I am the grand daughter, naturally enough I will be pampered by seniors.
Your humble words remind me of an episode from Ramayana. Hanumanji did not use anything but his ‚Äėown‚Äô strength or ability to cross the vast ocean full of dangers, but when Shri Ramji had to cross it along with His army, they built a huge bridge. It does not mean Shri Ramji could not have done what Hanumanji did, it is just that He wanted to give an opportunity of service to everybody, even a squirrel. Additionally, Hanumanji could achieve that feat because he took the shelter of His holy name. It is although a very far fetched parallel for a fallen person like me, but it surely depicts from where I am deriving my energy. I have the shelter of blessings of great vaishnavas, devotees, and thus you. I have the backing of the whole parampara, transmitted through Srila Prabhupada and then his disciples. I have a long way to go, I feel inspired to hear your encouraging words from you and now I feel even more empowered too.
The thought of ‚Äútranscendental competition‚ÄĚ is also nice, what a way to pat the back of a child! But I want to make confession- “I really like it and I really need these pats in these moments of testing.” Thank you once again.

Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada

Hare Krishna Suresh prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I am so sorry to disappoint you prabhu, I am not that famous Vrndavanlila dd who keeps everybody posted on Mayapur pictures etc.
But your words that it was an interesting article, really encourages me. Thank you so much. Actually to my understanding, in terms of implementation of varnasrama set up, this is a period of transition for us, where people are rising to the awareness and importance of varnasrama in our spiritual life and progress. So this is a period of change- the most difficult period. I may not be able to see things happen in this life time itself, may be the next generation will or even the next‚Ķ But it has to happen. Varnasrama is bound to take the world, Varnasrama is the next revolution, not because I sit here and feel like that; simply because it is the desire of great vaishnavas like Bhakti Vinod Thakur, Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati, Srila Prabhupada‚Ķ.so many exalted devotees’ entreaties. Krishna can not reject their pleas. In fact we are all aware how He mercifully chose to appear as Mahaprabhu on the prayers of Advaita acharya… Here it is more significant because varnasrama is His creation too. :) Let us associate ourselves with this big revolution and work in sync with His desire.
In such moments of anxiety when we are seeing so much of tumult and change, these small words of appreciation are very precious prabhu. Thank you once again.
Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada

Hare Krishna Patita Pavan Prabhu,
Please accept my humble obeisances
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada

Thank you so much for your kind inspiring words.
I am still pinching myself to believe that such a senior devotee of your stature, whose knowledge and felicity of words has been simply so awe inspiring for a spiritual toddler like me has not only commented on my expression of feelings but even appreciated it.
So much for repeating the words of acharyas and my guru, HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaj! The beauty of Guru parampara and Krishna consciousness….
I am just a small fry in the big army of Srila Prabhupada, but devotees are like desire trees indeed, mercifully empowering a person like me also through their blessings to serve Him better:
vancha-kalpa-tarubhyash ca
kripa-sindhubhya eva ca
patitanam pavanebhyo
vaisnavebhyo namo namah
Greedily, I plead you to give me more and more of your blessings for I am so fallen and disqualified.
