Wow! So many outstanding scores from the Prabhupada Marathon in December. Pune was on fire. Under the able guidance of Radhe Shyama Prabhu, Pune was the No. 1 temple in the world, with 856,826 book points. It was a close competition with New Delhi, in second place, with 813,294 book points. In the Medium Temple category, Punjabi Bhag in New Delhi was No. 1, with 369,346 book points. The capital of India was getting the mercy of Krsna in a big way, with thousands of big hardcover books going out to people.

The No. 1 book distributor is Bhakti Prema Swami from Ujjain, who did an astounding 11,154 book points, by selling many Bhagavatam sets. Not far behind is Mahotsaha Prabhu, who did 10,444 book points by selling Sapta Rishi sets (seven books) and Bhakta Sets (four books). He achieved this by going person to person, which is amazing. Not long ago he did 1,177 books in one day and broke Harinamanada Prabhu's record of nine hundred books in one day in Switzerland.

The devotees in Bon Accueil, Mauritius, increased their book distribution in September by 999%, with 4,115 book points. I've been to Mauritius. There are a lot of devotees, and now they seem to be inspired to increase their number. The devotees have preached and distributed books there since Srila Prabhupada visited Mauritius in 1975. Only one-and-a-quarter million people live on the island, and one might think that the country has been covered and there are no more prospects. But where there's a will, there's a way.

Brazil is on fire! The giant is coming alive again. In July, Curitiba had a huge increase, 450%, with 1,898 book points. I almost cannot believe what happened in April. The Mayapur temple did 212,221 book points, putting them way out in front of any other temple. The magic of the Mayapur book distributors cannot be underestimated. Here's a surprise: Ambarish Maharaja, a sannyasi from Russia, is No. 17 in the world, with 1,850 book points. I think that this is the first time I've seen a sannyasi do such a huge score in the category of regular person-to-person book distribution. Before taking sannyasa, he was a full-time book distributor. Along with being a good book distributor, he's one of the nicest devotees I’ve ever met.

A little surprise coming out of India: Angul, a small city north of Jaganatha Puri, was the No. 1 temple worldwide in the Medium Category in February, with 3,065 book points. I had never heard of Angul. Another interesting thing was that all the top-ten temples in the Small Category each did more book points than all of the top-ten temples in the Medium Category. The small temples are more fired up than the medium temples.

It looks like book distribution is almost back to normal, though the Covid-19 crisis still lurks around us. Temples worldwide did huge in January. Usually, January is a slow month, being just after the Prabhupada Marathon, but not January 2021. New Delhi did 139,522 book points. It’s hard to keep a good temple down, and they were in their normal No. 1 position again.

Sydney, totally fired up in November, did 6,467 book points, almost doubling the second-place temple in the Medium Temple category. Chattagram, Bangladesh also did really huge: 38,351 book points, making it the No. 1 temple in the Small Temple category and the No. 2 temple worldwide, just behind New Delhi, with 38,761 book points.
