My experience of going to Sweden and to Almvik farm was really inspiring. Because the Scandinavian countries are very refreshing, to make a film in Almvik with the devotees there felt especially beneficial to me.
It is difficult when most people in society are into selfish pursuits and not interested in supporting anything spiritual. Almvik farm has its struggles, but it is maintaining a strong spiritual programme. The devotees that I got to know there were involved in so many nice activities like cow protection, art work, baking and gardening. Srila Prabhupada wanted us to start farm communities so that we could become self-sufficient and even with limited manpower, the devotees are working towards that.
Hopefully part 1 of my film about Almvik will give a glimpse into the stories of some of the residents there and how Srila Prabhupada is the centre of their lives. When putting my films together I am reminded of the rewarding association I had with the devotees.
