By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada, @HareKrsnaTV initiated a Khichadi Prasadam distribution program in January 2026 to share the Lord’s mercy with the community. As it is the responsibility of those in the Grihastha Ashram to serve according to their capacity, Hare Krishna TV has undertaken this humble endeavor to provide nutritious meals to those in need.
Every day at 12:30 PM, Hare Krishna TV team distribute hot Khichadi Prasadam in Mira Road (East) near Indira Gandhi Hospital. As a government institution, the hospital attracts many economically disadvantaged patients and their families who rely on this service. Hare Krsna TV – ISKCON Desire Tree currently serve between 350 and 400 portions daily to a diverse group, including pregnant women, students, laborers, and rickshaw drivers. On Ekadashi, they ensure that special Ekadashi prasadam is distributed.
During the distribution, Srila Prabhupada’s kirtan is played to create a spiritual atmosphere. Many regular recipients have expressed that they depend on this daily meal and have requested that they continue this service indefinitely.
There is currently significant scope to double the distribution quantity to reach even more people in need.
