Bhaktivedanta Manor opened its gates to the public for a special open day
celebrating its goshalla, organic farm and commitment to sustainable living.
Around 300 visitors joined us for the event, many experiencing the Manor for
the first time.
This year, the focus was on showcasing the eco-friendly side of the Manor
and giving visitors the opportunity to discover the inspiring projects and
practices that make the estate so unique. Guests of all ages enjoyed a range
of hands-on activities, including guided tours of the goshalla and farm, cow
washing, oxen cart training, the ever-popular Zebu experience, children’s
arts and crafts, henna, plant pot seeding, kirtan and oxen cart rides.
While there were fewer activities than at previous open days, the more
relaxed programme created a welcoming and intimate atmosphere. It gave
visitors the chance to take their time, ask questions, learn more about the
Manor and its work, and make meaningful connections with the people who care
for the estate and its animals.

It was particularly rewarding to hear visitors express their admiration for
the loving care given to the Manor’s cows and its commitment to growing
produce organically. For many, the opportunity to see these practices
first-hand offered a fresh perspective on sustainable farming and
compassionate animal care.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Zebu experience. Children were
delighted to get up close to these gentle and fascinating animals, making it
one of the most popular activities of the day and bringing smiles to
visitors of all ages.
The open day was a wonderful opportunity to welcome the local community to
Bhaktivedanta Manor, share the values that inspire its work, and celebrate
the connection between people, animals, farming and the natural environment.
Do you know anyone who is completely new to the culture, but would enjoy a visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor?
