In his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 7.6.1, Srila Prabhupada writes that ‘ In all the schools, colleges and universities, and at home all children and youths should be taught to hear about the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In other words, they should be taught to hear the instructions of Bhagavad-Gita, to put them into practice in their lives, and thus to become strong in devotional service, free from fear of being degraded to animal life.’
The students of Sri Mayapur International School are fortunate to get the opportunity to hear about Krishna from senior devotees in the holy dham. In the last week there were classes in school given by H.H Bhakti Caitanya Maharaja, who spoke about the pastime of the killing of Dhenukasura, H.H Subhag Maharaja spoke on S.B 7.6.1, H.G Revati devi dasi gave a talk on ‘Forgiveness’ to the middle and high school girls and H.G Ter Kadamba dasa gave a talk on friendship in Krishna Consciousness to the middle and high school boys.

The girls also invited female disciples of Srila Prabhupada to visit the school where they were served prasad , had kirtan and shared their inspirations and realisations after over 40 years of dedicated service to Srila Prabhupada. The vaishnavis that honoured us with their association were (from left to right in the photo) H.G Atita Guna devi dasi, H.G Jiva Nausini devi dasi, H.G Murti devi dasi, H.G Yasomati devi dasi, HG Muni Patni devi dasi, H.G Mallika Devi dasi and HG Subhangi devi dasi.
Starting from middle school, the students attend Srimad Bhagavatam class in the temple and also have a sastra class later in school where they are taught how to put the instructions of the Srimad Bhagavatam in to practice in their lives. The high school students study for their Bhakti Sastri degree in school as part of the curriculum. In this way the students are taught to hear about the Supreme Personality of Godhead daily.
