By now all of you must have come to know about the earthquake situation at Nepal. It is very severe one. The situation in Nepal is very bad. I heard more earthquake is expected within the next six days. Thousands of people have died and thousands have become homeless
By the mercy of the Lord our temple in Kathmandu is safe and devotees there are in safe. But our congregation memebrs have been affected. Around 300/400 congregation memebrs have taken shelter at Iskcon Kathamandu temple. Temple authorities are also trying their best to help people of affected areas by distributing prasadam to them.
I am appeding the report I received from Patri prabhu.
From Mayapur and Siliguri we wanted to send devotees to help. But there is no road connection to Kathmandu. Passengers commercial flights are also not operating. It has become a challenge to send any help from here. However our Iskcon Kolkata manager Radharaman prabhu is working with Govt. to arrange to send some food materials through Air India cargo flights. Initially we have told Radharaman prabhu to send 5 lacs rupees cost of food materials and cooking utensils to Iskcon Kathmandu. Let us see how it works. If it works well then we will send more food materials and devotees from Mayapur.
Donations can be sent to Iskcon Mayapur accounts. Our CFO Ramanipati prabhu will keep track of the donations received.

Dear all devotees, Please accept our humble obeisances, All glories to Srila Prabhupada. We are reporting a disastrous earthquake that engulfed Nepal since 25 April, 2015 noon. A massive earthquake measuring up to 7.9 Richter scale hit the country for more than 100 times in 24 hours. Number of casualties increasing moment by moment resulting in great loss of many lives and properties. The aftershock of the earthquake is predicted to continue for the next 6 days having 6 epicenters on the northern part of Kathmandu. Most of the world heritage sites and temples all over Nepal collapsed within seconds after the initial shock. The only international airport in Kathmandu has its runway cracked, we now have no connection with the outside world. Cracked roads, landslides and demolished houses have made it difficult to move around and basic facilities including communication and electricity are difficult. An State of Emergency has been declared by the Nepal Government. As a result of the earthquake, the devotee community has also been affected with many devotees injured, having their houses lost. Some of their relatives also left their bodies buried. In this time of crisis, we devotees from ISKCON Nepal are also extending our help to the people affected through our programs of Medical camps, Rescue teams and Food for life. We are trying our best in reaching out to people in the form of Krishna’s Prasadam and other facilities. However, our help we are trying to extend is not enough to reach the huge number of people who are affected. So, we wholeheartedly appeal to the devotees worldwide to help us with funds and prayers at this time of crisis.
