Dear Devotees,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
With heartfelt sadness, we offer our appreciation and respects in separation to HH Bhakti Madhurya Govinda Swami, who departed from this world on the 14th of November in New Delhi, India.
Maharaja was one of the early members of ISKCON, accepting Srila Prabhupada as his eternal spiritual master in 1968. Since that time, he dedicated himself to sharing Krishna consciousness with society at large. Maharaja was a pioneer of university outreach and spent many years taking the message of Srila Prabhupada to university campuses in the United States. He also took on leadership responsibilities, serving as temple president for a number of temples.
In recent years, Maharaja was based at the Punjabi Bagh temple in New Delhi, where he served as a spiritual mentor to many devotees, inspiring and encouraging them with his unique blend of intensity and sweetness.
We join the devotees of Punjabi Bagh temple and members of ISKCON worldwide in offering our heartfelt gratitude to HH Bhakti Madhurya Govinda Swami for his lifetime of sincere service to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and pray that we may follow his example of fidelity and dedication to the mission of Srila Prabhupada.
Thank you very much.
Hare Krsna,
