Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nActually one of the songs had been written right at the time of my joining the Movement, but for nearly four decades I practically did not have the time or the concentration to practice or do anything in relation to music.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nA short while ago, realizing that my body is nearly 60 years old, and that my senses will soon become too weak to do anything, I resolved to try to put something down, and here is the result.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFor the recording I just used GarageBand and very simple instruments, and I sung and played two or three times at the most for each song.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe devotees of the Lord are very merciful, though, and they can extract the nectar of rememberance of Srila Prabhupada\u2019s Lotus Feet even from an however mediocre performance like mine. them,<br \/>\n<br \/>\ncalling them \u201cfamily\u201d and \u201ckinsmen\u201d, gliding with them down to hell.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nMorbid senses with no mercy, keep us stuck as if in glue,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nonly way to be protected \u2013 to become attached to You\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nGroups of maniacs called \u201cresearchers\u201d scan this matter in and out,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nsearch for cosmic mozzarellas, soups, black holes or primal life.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFoolish humans wallow thinking, no reaction will come through,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nonly way to be protected \u2013 to become attached to You&#8230;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTo become attached to You, to become attached to You<br \/>\n<br \/>\nTo become attached to You, to become attached to You\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWhen we think we made some progress, how complacent we become!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nProfit, fame and adoration make us think we are advanced,<br \/>\n<br \/>\ngoing so far even to judge You, we become the lowest fools.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nOnly way to be protected \u2013 to become attached to You\u2026.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTo become attached to You, to become attached to You<br \/>\n<br \/>\nTo become attached to You, to become attached to \/>\n<\/h1>\n<p>\nThis life\u2019s been a big trial, just from the start:<br \/>\n<br \/>\nas soon as I turned three, my mother died,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nmy father couldn\u2019t stay, and went away\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nEvery night I dreamt that she\u2019ll be back,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nat all times I felt so lonely and sad\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThen years and years went by, such useless life;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nstupidity and the search for girls and hip,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nso called friends and a young and loving wife&#8230;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIt all got burned within no time,<br \/>\n<br \/>\ndisillusion grew within my mind\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nI had tried to love, offering myself to such extent,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nbut it all got dispersed, I gave my love and got betrayed,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nso I resolved, it\u2019s so hard to love let\u2019s give up trying,<br \/>\n<br \/>\njust carry on with life.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDidn\u2019t know Your mercy was awaiting there to touch my heart:\n<\/p>\n<p>\ntwo of Your angels came and picked me up,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nby Krishna\u2019s grace I took shelter of You.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nI grasped Your Feet trying to love You, but my hardened heart<br \/>\n<br \/>\nwouldn\u2019t allow me to, how inconsistent was my love.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nStill You are so kind, never left me alone during this trial,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nalways sustaining me.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nNow I can say with full convinction that because of Your affection<br \/>\n<br \/>\nit is not really hard to love, when my love is meant for You, Srila Prabhupada,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nYou are not really hard to love, You are not really hard to love, Srila Prabhupada.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nWish that all may realize, how to love You is easy and nice.<\/p>\n<p>\n<object height=\"81\" \/>\n<\/h1>\n<p>\nWe get the wonderful news, Prabhupad will come soon,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthe joy here in Mayapur Dham, fills up the land and the sky.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe phone rings, \u201cSwarupgunj 31\u201d, He has left Calcutta just now,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthey\u2019ll stop shortly at the mango grove, and reach here right before noon\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nEveryone runs around to make sure that everything\u2019s in place;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthe roads are spotlessly clean, and the room has been duly prepared.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWe all rush outside the main gate, the sweetest kirtan builds up,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nwhile all the sannyas dance in bliss, from far approaches the car\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAnd we run, and we laugh, and we cry, and we dance,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nall our lives are fulfilled \u2018cause of Srila Prabhupada.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWe quench our thirst drinking through the eyes the compassion in His smiles,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nand then we follow the car till it reaches the Candrodoya Mandir.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe car door opens and then He appears, most triumphantly divine,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nand He walks with his lion gait filling up with joy our hearts.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nJay Srila Prabhupada &#8230; Jay Srila Prabhupada\n<\/p>\n<p>\nJananivas near the temple door puts the chandan on Prabhupa\u2019s forehead,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nwe all move towards the altar where He offers His obeisances.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSeeing how Radha Madhava lovingly smile at Prabhupada<br \/>\n<br \/>\nour ecstasy knows no bounds anymore.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThere is nothing more to be gained<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/h1>\n<p>\nDuratma is getting up from bed as the alarm clock rings,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthe smelly body of his good wife still lying in bed;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nhe drags himself into the bath and starts the purging,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthen gives himself a vacuous smile right in the mirror.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHe rolls into the street to get his transportation,<br \/>\n<br \/>\na multitude of zombies move with him to nowhere;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nhis place of work a cage to foster his illusions,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nhe sheds blood, sweat and tears to give his contribution.<\/p>\n<p>Lust, envy and greed are raving through his mind,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nhe is suffocated by uncontrolled desires;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nahead of him a desolated hostile land,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nupon his death he\u2019ll be going down to hell.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDuratma tries to get relief through science and culture,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nbut then he just becomes the prey of learned vultures;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nhis only hope is Srila Prabhupada\u2019s compassion,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthat can cut through the layers of his degradation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nA graceful figure with a radiant smile<br \/>\n<br \/>\nappears and hands over a book to him:<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\u201cDear Sir, this book will surely change all of your life.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDuratma is stunned \u2013 what happens in his heart?<\/p>\n<p>He holds the book and hands over a bill,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthen goes right back into his mean routine;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nhe doesn\u2019t know the simple gesture that he has done<br \/>\n<br \/>\ngranted him back his immortality.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe supersoul has turned his heart towards devotion,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nwhile Srila Prabhupada\u2019s mercy has just descended;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nno more animal birth for this hopeless duratma<br \/>\n<br \/>\nbecause he got the association of Mahatmas.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nNow Gaur-Nitai are glancing sweetly at him,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nand Radharani is pleased with what he did;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nand all the Acaryas there with Srila Prabhupada<br \/>\n<br \/>\nare planning how to engage that soul again<br \/>\n<br \/>\naway from pain &#8230; eternal gain\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDuratma saved, duratma saved, by the books of Srila Prabhupada.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDeevotee in bliss, devotee in bliss, goes out searching<br \/>\n<br \/>\nfor another soul&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\n<object \/>\n\u2018cause if I hadn\u2019t had His grace, I would have left the human race,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAnd if He hadn\u2019t been so kind, I could be born a dog or a swine.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe grace of my Spiritual Master is what keeps me going on,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHis words and His bodily lustre, Maya\u2019s tricky plans have exposed;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nand if it weren\u2019t for His grace, I would have lost this human face,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nlong pointed nose, hooves and a tail \u2013 which kind of birth no one can tell.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nJaya Prabhupada, Jaya Prabhupada<br \/>\n<br \/>\nJaya Prabhupada, Jaya Prabhupada\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFor pleasing my Spiritual Master, more convinced I have to become,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthe mind is not easy to master, only by His love can she be overcome;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nbut if I don\u2019t secure His grace, I will be lost and be disgraced,<br \/>\n<br \/>\namongst the crowds another face, going down to hell at a breathless pace.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nJaya Prabhupada, pain.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOh Srila Prabhupada, You said if one does not complete his course<br \/>\n<br \/>\nand then is born again, the Master out of mercy may come down again<br \/>\n<br \/>\nto rescue his son, but no\u2026\u2026<br \/>\n<br \/>\nI shouldn\u2019t have You come save me again,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nI shouldn\u2019t have You come save me again\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFor so long I was engaged in idle talks and useless thoughts, I could have better served my Master, but my mind kept pushing me down\u2026<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNow that the end is near I realize I served just lust and greed,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nmy only hope my Master\u2019s mercy that can liberate even a fool like me\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWhatever time is left I\u2019ll dedicate fully to You, it\u2019s late I know, I feel ashamed still I should try complete my course within this present life because\u2026<br \/>\n<br \/>\nI shouldn\u2019t have you come save me again, I shouldn\u2019t have you come<br \/>\n<br \/>\nsave me again\u2026<br \/>\n<br \/>\nPlease allow me to join You again, to join You again, to join You again;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthere\u2019s no place I like to go, the world is void without Your sight of Him become suddendly serene,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHis compassion puts to rest birth, old-age, disease and death.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nLower East Side, a place of transcendental life,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nLower East Side, where revolution is divine.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThen He goes down to the park, starts to chant beneath the tree,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nlow-class high-class we don\u2019t mind, this vibration makes all free.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSweetest \u2018Vande ham Sri Gurun\u2019 that attracts even the goons;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nportoricans, hippies, blacks are submerged with Holy Names.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTompkins Square Park, because of Srila Prabhupada,<br \/>\n<br \/>\nTompkins Square Park, you\u2019ve now become an Holy Dham.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHis radiant blissful smile, then captures all their hearts;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nthe hippies dance in bliss at Prabhupada\u2019s beat:\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHe took the lowest beings, and gave them matchless gifts,<br \/>\n<br \/>\n\u201cStay High Forever\u201d please, but free from L.S.D.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nCompassionately kind, and patient all the while,<br
