There was a grand Jagannath Ratha yatra organized by ISKCON Kaundanyapur on July 3rd, 2022. Every year we have this chariot festival since Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and Subhadra maiya deities are installed in our temple. Kaundanyapur is the birthplace of Rukmini Maharani, the principal consort of Lord Krishna. And we all know,<\/p>\n
Jei Gaura sei Krishna sei Jagannath<\/p>\n
Thus, Kaundanyapur became the in-laws\u2019 place of Lord Jagannath. As it\u2019s a dham, devotees all over the Vidarbha region Nagpur, Wardha, Yavatmal, Amravati, Akola, Murtizapur, Paratwada, Karanja, and Pachora, arrived to pull the Ratha of Lord Jagannath. The most merciful Lord Jagannath along with His brother Balarama and sister Subhadra were seated in the beautiful chariot made by devotees with love and devotion. They were beautifully dressed and decorated. <\/p>\n
The sky was filled with clouds. The matajis were busy preparing 56 bhogas, drawing beautiful rangolis, and decorating the courtyard of the temple to welcome Their Lordships. We were all praying that it should not rain so that we all can walk and dance for the pleasure of Their Lordships. <\/p>\n
At first 56 bhogas were offered. Then the chief guests Kameshji Thokar from Nagpur and Rajendra Deshmukh along with their family members were invited on the Ratha for arati. <\/p>\n
After that, I gave a small talk explaining the importance of ratha yatra.<\/p>\n
Srila Prabhupada, the founder acarya of the International Society of Krsna Consciousness, desiring to deliver the entire universe from the clutches of material nature, preached and propagated the doctrine of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in the Western world. After inspiring so many to take to the sublime process of Krsna Consciousness, he freely distributed his unlimited mercy by introducing the Ratha Yatra festival all over the world. He did this to create sukrti for the general populace. By taking Jagannatha out of the temple and onto the streets, one and all can be benefitted by having His divine darsana and hearing the kirtana of the holy names of the Lord.<\/p>\n
One who takes darsana of Lord Jagannath, Baladev Subhadra maiya, and pulls the rope never takes birth again. <\/p>\n
Then the sankirtana started and all the devotees were ready to pull the Lord in their hearts. The merciful Lords ratha moved in the whole village, thus giving darsana to each and every person in the village. All the devotees danced and sang to their hearts\u2019 content.<\/p>\n
After returning prasadam was distributed to all the devotees. The devotees then shared their realizations and were filled with spiritual joy and happiness. A devotee said, \u201cAs we cannot go to Jagannath Puri, the Lord mercifully came to us and made us pull His chariot, thus making us fortunate.\u201d Thus, Lord showered His unlimited mercy to all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
