Namartha-sudha Release<\/span><\/p>\n By Dr. Demian Martins<\/span><\/p>\n I am glad to announce the release of another publication of the Baladeva Vidyabhusana Project— the commentary on the Visnu-sahasra-nama entitled Namartha-sudha, “the nectar of the meanings of the Holy Names.” Sri Vidyabhusana made this an original and unprecedented work in many respects, managing to extract a Gaudiya flavour out of the text in a unique way. Instead of the common trend shown by other authors in interpreting the names in connection with Lord Narayana, here a large number of names has been attributed to Lord Krsna. The whole text has been divided by Vidyabhusana into sections of names attributed to various avataras<\/em> and their respective pastimes.<\/span><\/p>\n The inaccuracy of the available manuscripts posed several difficulties to establish the original readings, which could be ascertained only after extensive research through reference texts used by the author and a meticulous comparative study of various manuscript versions.
