The seven hundred philosophical poetic verses of the ancient Sanskrit text of the Bhagavad G\u012bt\u0101 take the form of a teaching in the form of a dialogue. For thousands of years, a large portion of the peoples of South Asia have treasured this work as a scripture. Professor Schweig will argue that this text’s famous narrative story line, which carries primarily the voice of a teacher to his student, embraces the idea that knowledge can be transmitted through specific approaches in dialogue that exemplify powerful pedagogical models for ideal teaching. Professor Schweig will highlight certain passages taken directly from his own Bhagavad G\u012bt\u0101 translation (HarperColllins, 2010) to demonstrate how this ancient teaching can be a source for fresh approaches to teaching in contemporary times. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
