\nRanchor: The village policeman came to meet Prabhupada. As part of his job he took it upon himself to act as a liaison between the devotees and the village.
\nThere had been complaints about noise during their festival, and also about a devotee who had been chanting loudly in the doctors waiting room.
\nHe wanted to assure the devotees that they had done no wrong.
\nPrabhupada said devotees should be considerate.
\n\u2018We may take pleasure in chanting Hare Krishna loudly, but others may not. When you go to others\u2019 places, simply chant in such a way that only you can hear. Not that you have to advertise yourself.\u2019
\nHe demonstrated chanting the maha-mantra softly, almost under his breath.
\n\u2018You know what they call me?\u2019 the policeman said. \u2018They say I\u2019m Harry Krishna on this side, and Harry Edwards on the other side. I live just across the road,\u2019 he explained.
\n\u2018So they joke that on one side my name is Harry Edwards, and on the other side my name is Harry Krishna. My name is Harry Edwards, you see.\u2019
\n\u2018A good name,\u2019 laughed Prabhupada. \u2018When somebody is disturbed he can say, \u201cI am calling Mr Harry.\u201d \u2019
\nEveryone laughed as Harry elaborated further.
\n‘In the morning when I ring up the station they say, \u201cAh, Harry Krishna,\u201d and I say, \u201cHare Krishna to you.\u201d So really, you\u2019ve achieved your object without them knowing it.\u2019
\n\u2018Yes, yes.\u2019 Prabhupada laughed. \u2018All over the world, when people see us, they chant Hare Krishna.\u2019
\nHarry ended by giving Prabhupada his assurance that he was always ready to be of assistance.
\n\u2018If there\u2019s anything you need to ask me …\u2019
