You say, \u201cOh! We have been cheated so many times. Now we won\u2019t put faith in anyone. No s\u0101dhus are there. We don\u2019t see any s\u0101dhu.\u201d

\nCan you see a s\u0101dhu? Do you have the vision to see a s\u0101dhu? You are a conditioned soul. You have defective vision. How can you see a s\u0101dhu? You have developed this motto, \u201cSeeing is believing.\u201d You say, \u201cIf I see then I will believe. Can you show me? Can you show me the Lord? Then I will believe.\u201d
\n.
\nBut you are not prepared to admit that you are blind. You have no vision to see the Lord. Even if I show you the Lord, how can you see without vision? You are not prepared to admit your shortcoming. You are such a crooked, pretentious, duplicitous person. You are always trying to hide your defects. You are not prepared to admit them. This is proof that you are not at all simple. You are a crooked person. Be simple! If you just once say with an open heart, \u201cKrishna, I am yours!\u201d then immediately Krishna will accept you. He is there in your heart, but you can\u2019t cry out to him. Your heart is filled with such filth, such duplicity and crookedness. You are never simple. And Krishna knows it.

\nThis is the reason why you cannot develop strong faith. Now you want to see s\u0101dhu. You say, \u201cWe don\u2019t see any s\u0101dhus. There are no s\u0101dhus.\u201d
\n.
\nIf there is no s\u0101dhu then how are things going on? This is Kali-yuga, the most sinful and degraded age. Still there is ekap\u0101d-dharma, one-legged religion, therefore things are continuing. Otherwise everything would have been finished, destroyed. In Satya-yuga, dharma had four legs. In Treta-yuga three legs were there. In Dv\u0101para-yuga two legs were there, and in Kali-yuga there is one leg. Because this one leg of dharma is present, things are going on and we are all here.
\n.
\nThe holy name came \u2014 this is the yuga-dharma for Kali-yuga. But we have no faith, no belief in it. We are such crooked persons. We have no simplicity. We only speak with the lips while something else is in the heart. Simplicity is vaishnavism. It is the only thing required. Make your heart simple. Drive out, throw out all this filth, crookedness, duplicity, and pretentiousness, and immediately you will get Krishna.

\nKrishna emphasizes this \u015braddh\u0101 in many places in the G\u012bt\u0101. In chapter four, text 39 he states: \u015braddh\u0101v\u0101l labhate j\u00f1\u0101na\u1e41 \u2014 \u201cA faithful person quickly obtains transcendental knowledge.\u201d In chapter nine, text three, he states: a\u015braddadh\u0101n\u0101\u1e25 puru\u1e63\u0101 apr\u0101pya m\u0101\u1e41 nivartante m\u1e5btyu-sa\u1e41s\u0101ra-vartmani \u2014 \u201cThose who have no \u015braddh\u0101, no faith, cannot approach me.
