\nShe used to come to the Brisbane Iskcon
\ntemple with clock regularity during Deity greetings or Guru Puja and
\nperform her cleaning service in the Deity paraphernalia room for many,
\nmany years. She was a pleasant person to associate with and she had a
\ngood sense of humor. At times, she told me some confidential
\ninformation about her family members. If I am not mistaken, she kept a
\ncat too. She was a very excellent and reliable book customer of mine.
\nI find that all persons who buy Srila Prabhupada\u2019s books are very
\nexcellent personalities. She definitely was one of them. Those persons
\nwho decide to buy and read Srila Prabhupada\u2019s books have evidently
\nmade the most judicious and vital decision one could ever make in
\none\u2019s life. Not only was she an avid reader of Srila Prabhupada\u2019s
\nbooks, but she was in fact a book distributor as well. By Krishna\u2019s
\ngrace, I just found at the last minute, an invoice in her name dated
\n30 August 2009, when she purchased 20 copies of \u201cComing Back\u201d. If
\nthese were not for distribution, then what were these for?<\/p>\n
Just a few days before Janmastami, I received an email from our
\nsecretary HG Syamarani Devi Dasi, that she had suffered a stroke on
\n29th July 2012. A second email came with relatively good news, that
\nthings were better and stable. Then a third piece of information came
\nthat things had taken a turn for the worse. I am told that her
\nrelatives exhorted her to leave on Janmastami day. She did just that.
\nAll glories to her decision! Srila Prabhupada appeared on Nandotsava
\nand Srimati Nirmala Devi Dasi decided to depart on Janmastami, the
\nappearance day of Lord Krishna. Could she have made a better decision?
\nNot at all, under the circumstances, this is the best possible
\ndecision she could ever have made. All glories to Nirmala Devi Dasi
\nand her fortitude! Srila Prabhupada mentions an old lady in Vrindavan,
\nwho would daily fetch water for the Yamuna for Deity worship, year in
\nand year out. This steady service would take her back home, Back to
\nGodhead, Srila Prabhupada said. So we may conclude the same destiny
\nawaits Nirmala Devi Dasi and if my own words have any weight in this
\naffair at all, I may say that:\u201d Nirmala Devi Dasi has got my full
\nblessings and thank you very much for being such a nice Bhaktivedanta
