\n\u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu taught us this method of worship in separation, vipralambha-sev\u0101. Not that “Oh, I have seen yesterday. Last night, I have seen K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. He was snatching my cloth.” These are sahajiy\u0101s. Actually, our worship should be in separation.
\nThe Gosv\u0101m\u012bs also taught us like that. He r\u0101dhe vraja-devike ca lalite he k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a kuta\u1e25 [\u1e62a\u1e0d-gosv\u0101my-a\u1e63\u1e6daka 8]. They, in the V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana, remained authorized persons. They were also searching after K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. They never said that “We have got K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.” Never said. He r\u0101dhe vraja-devike ca lalite he nanda-s\u016bno kuta\u1e25 \u015br\u012b-govardhana-p\u0101dapa-tale k\u0101lind\u012b-vane kuta\u1e25, gho\u1e63ant\u0101v iti khedair mah\u0101-vihvalau. Simply khedair mah\u0101-vihvalau. They were lamenting in separation. Vande r\u016bpa-san\u0101tanau raghu-yugau \u015br\u012b-j\u012bva-gop\u0101lakau.
\nSo this is the process of Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu’s worship. Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu was falling down on the water, “Oh, I could not see K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.” When He was g\u1e5bhastha, He was simply consulting with mother, “Mother, I could not realize K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. What shall I do? Where shall I go?” Mother said, “My dear son, why You are impatient? Everything will be all right in due course.” Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu was giving indication that “I must leave home.” Mother was also understanding that “This boy wants to leave us.” That was another perplexed position.
\nSo that is Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu’s teaching:

\n[\u015aik\u1e63\u0101\u1e63\u1e6daka 7]\nGovinda-virahe\u1e47a. “In separation from Govinda I am thinking one moment as twelve years.” Some of you or all of us have got this experience. If we want something very, very eagerly, then every moment becomes a long time = “Oh, it is not yet received. It is not yet received. It is not yet done.” Yug\u0101yita\u1e41 nime\u1e63e\u1e47a. Nime\u1e63a, a moment, a twinkling of an eye, that is called nime\u1e63a. That appears to be twelve years. The gop\u012bs could not tolerate even twinkling of eyes. They were condemning the creator, that “Creator does not know the art of creating. Why he has created this twinkling of eyes so that it is disturbing us from seeing K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a?” Seeing K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, and the twinkling of eyes, that is natural. So the gop\u012bs did not like it, that “Why he has created this? He does not know the art of creation.”
\nThis is love. Yug\u0101yi… \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu tasted the gop\u012bs’ feeling. \u015ar\u012b-caitany\u0101khya\u1e41 praka\u1e6dam adhun\u0101 tad-dvaya\u1e41 caikyam \u0101ptam. R\u0101dh\u0101 k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-pra\u1e47aya-vik\u1e5btir hl\u0101din\u012b-\u015bakti\u1e25 [Cc. \u0100di 1.5]. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, when He wants to enjoy… He is the Absolute Supreme Person, spirit, Absolute, the Supreme Spirit. So for spiritual enjoyment in this material world, great saintly persons, sages, they give up all material enjoyment just to taste what is spiritual enjoyment, spiritual life. Brahm\u0101nubh\u016bti. They give up everything. Tapas\u0101 brahmacarye\u1e47a [SB 6.1.13]. By austerity, brahmacarya, yamena, niyamena, ty\u0101gena, satya-\u015bauc\u0101bhy\u0101m—so many processes they adopt for tasting a little brahm\u0101nubh\u016bti. Ittha\u1e41 sat\u0101\u1e41 brahma-sukh\u0101nubh\u016bty\u0101 d\u0101sya\u1e41 gat\u0101n\u0101\u1e41 para-daivatena [SB 10.12.11].
\nSo \u015aukadeva Gosv\u0101m\u012b said that “Here, the K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, here is playing with the cowherds boys. Who is He?” Ittha\u1e41 sat\u0101\u1e41 brahma-sukh\u0101nubh\u016bty\u0101: “The great sages, saintly person, who are trying to taste the spiritual realization, that is here. He is playing as cowherd boy.” D\u0101sya\u1e41 gat\u0101n\u0101\u1e41 para-daivatena: “And those who are devotees, for them He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.” M\u0101y\u0101\u015brit\u0101n\u0101\u1e41 nara-d\u0101rake\u1e47a: “And those who are m\u0101y\u0101\u015brita, they are thinking, ‘This K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is ordinary human child.’ ” S\u0101ka\u1e41 vijahru\u1e25 k\u1e5bta-pu\u1e47ya-pu\u00f1j\u0101\u1e25 [SB 10.12.11] = “So with this boy, transcendental K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, cowherd boy, the other boys who are playing, they are not ordinary men.” K\u1e5bta-pu\u1e47ya-pu\u00f1j\u0101\u1e25. “They accumulated pious activities life after life for many, many thousands and millions of lives. Now they have got the opportunity to play with K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.”
\nSo this K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness movement is very serious and important. Here are the sign, how they love K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. One side, they are…, they cannot check the tears coming out, “K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is going away.” Another side, “Oh, if I shed tears, then there may be inauspicity.” How much perplexity, this two sides. Dilemma. “Between the horns of Scylla and Charybdis.” That is the position. The lover, intense love creates such situation, as Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu exhibited.

\n[\u015aik\u1e63\u0101\u1e63\u1e6daka 7]\n“Without seeing Govinda, the whole world is vacant.” This is love. “Let me try to become K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a conscious. If it is done, all right. If it is not done, I shall remain in my position. What is the loss?” Not like that. One must be so eager that without K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness one should become mad. One should become mad. That is \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu’s teaching—separation, not direct contact.
\nDirect contact is not possible. Neither that is the way of worshiping by the method of \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu. That is sahajiy\u0101-v\u0101da. “I am talking with K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is snatching my cloth.” There is a book, one lady has written his [her] experience, that K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a comes, He talks with her and snatches her cloth. She has written openly. But this is not Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu’s way.
\nThere is one gentleman, Mr. Raya, in Poona, and she [he] has got also woman. Everyone must have a woman, parak\u012by\u0101. This is sahajiy\u0101-v\u0101da. This is sahajiy\u0101-v\u0101da. \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu never said, “This is the parak\u012by\u0101-rasa: one should have one woman.” No. He observed complete sanny\u0101sa life. Rather, there was very, very severe, rigid restriction about women. But now, these sahajiy\u0101s, they are going on in the name of \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu = \u0101ula, b\u0101ula, kartt\u0101-bhaj\u0101, ne\u1e0d\u0101, darave\u015ba, s\u0101\u1e45i sahajiy\u0101, sakh\u012bbhek\u012b, like that, so many. They are apa-samprad\u0101ya.
\nReal Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu samprad\u0101ya is that he should be feeling like Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu, separation. Not sambhoga. Vipralambha. Vipralambha-sev\u0101: “Oh, I am so wretched, I could not serve K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. How I can see K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a? It is not possible.” In this way. That is the teaching of \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu. “But even though I do not see Him, neither it is possible for me to see Him…” Means = “What I am? I am insignificant person. Why K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a come and see me?” This is right. “Why shall I aspire after seeing K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a? What qualification I have got?” This is bhajana. This is bhajana. Why should I be proud that “Now I shall see K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a”? What I am?
\nThat is the teaching of Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu. \u0100\u015bli\u1e63ya v\u0101 p\u0101da-rat\u0101\u1e41 pina\u1e63\u1e6du m\u0101\u1e41 marma-hat\u0101\u1e41 karotu v\u0101 adar\u015ban\u0101t [Cc. Antya 20.47]. Adar\u015bana. “Without giving me audience, You kill me, You break my heart; still, You are my Lord, You are my worshipable Lord, nobody else.” This is love. This is love. Asan k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a galai diba naiva beja taba[?]. Not like that. “K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a may not come. I may not see K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a for thousands and thousands of life. I may rot in the hellish condition of life for many, many births. That doesn’t matter. Still, I cannot give up K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness.” This is required. I may be sent to hell, heaven; it doesn’t matter. What qualification I have got that I want to see back to home, back to Godhead? It is not so easy thing. So why should I be sorry for that? I should be happy even in the hell, simply by thinking of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. That is wanted. That is wanted. That is K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness.
\nSo here is the example. Tears by force are coming out = “Oh, K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is going away.” At the same time, they want to check = “There may not be any inauspicity for K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.” They’re thinking K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, for K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, not for personal self. “Oh, I am now crying. I have become very much fortunate. I am crying for K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.” No. “My crying will create inauspicity to K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a. I must check it.” This is K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a consciousness.
