<\/p>\n
Sankarshan Das<\/p>\n
I was a young monk out to save the world.<\/p>\n
By teaching pure love of God<\/p>\n
And distributing a magazine Back to Godhead.<\/p>\n
Do you find that to be quite odd?<\/p>\n
At a mall in Leesburg, Florida,<\/p>\n
While showing folks how to attain the divine,<\/p>\n
The police came and put me in jail<\/p>\n
For committing this most heinous crime.<\/p>\n
Which side of the bars are you on?<\/p>\n
Which side of the bars are you on?<\/p>\n
They gave me a solitary cell,<\/p>\n
But I did not feel all alone<\/p>\n
Because I knew that God is with me<\/p>\n
In my newly attained, humble home.<\/p>\n
I didn\u2019t touch their garbage food,<\/p>\n
Not prepared as an offering to God.<\/p>\n
I was happily serving His mission<\/p>\n
Even though they considered me slipshod.<\/p>\n
Which side of the bars are you on?<\/p>\n
Which side of the bars are you on?<\/p>\n
As I gazed through the bars out the window<\/p>\n
At the world that is said to be free,<\/p>\n
I could see that that world was stuck behind bars,<\/p>\n
And that the prisoner was surely not me.<\/p>\n
I was ecstatic in my liberated world,<\/p>\n
Fully absorbed in the divine,<\/p>\n
Blessed with an amazing adventurous life<\/p>\n
That is inconceivably sublime.<\/p>\n

After thirty-six hours, I was bailed out<\/p>\n
Of my recently acquired address<\/p>\n
To continue my mission of liberating a world<\/p>\n
That is dying and full of duress.<\/p>\n
When I think back to that time<\/p>\n
When they stuck me in jail to put the brakes on me,<\/p>\n
I remember that as the most glorious time<\/p>\n
And pray that the world can now become free.<\/p>\n
