I have added the corresponding chapters of the Tenth Canto of \u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam, the original sanskrit and approximate ages in parentheses. I have used Pur\u012bd\u0101sa Mah\u0101\u015baya&#8217;s edition of the commentary (\u00ab\u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012b Sa\u1e45k\u1e63epa-vai\u1e63\u1e47ava-to\u1e63a\u1e47\u012b\u00bb, Mymensingh, 1946, sanskrit).&nbsp;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>T\u1e5b\u1e47\u0101varta killed<\/b> (7th Chapter) \u2013 after a full year passed <i>(var\u1e63e p\u016br\u1e47e)<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Damod\u0101ra-l\u012bl\u0101<\/b> (Chapters 9-10) \u2013 in the beginning of the third year during K\u0101rtika month <i>(t\u1e5bt\u012bya-var\u1e63\u0101rambhe k\u0101rtike)<\/i> (2 years and 2 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-Balar\u0101ma and all the cowherds move to V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana<\/b> (11th Chapter) \u2013 some days after Damod\u0101ra-l\u012bl\u0101 <i>(katicid-din\u0101nte v\u1e5bnd\u0101vana-prave\u015ba\u1e25)<\/i> (2 years and 2 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a began herding the calves<\/b> (10.11.37) &#8211; 2-3 months after moving to V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana <i>(dvi-tra-m\u0101s\u0101nantara\u1e41 vatsa-c\u0101ra\u1e47\u0101rambha\u1e25) <\/i>(2 years and 4-5 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>Vats\u0101sura, Bak\u0101sura and Vyom\u0101sura killed<\/b> (10.11.41-54) \u2013 during that time <i>(tatra vatsa-baka-vyoma-vadha\u1e25)<\/i> (2 years and 4-5 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>Brahm\u0101 stole the cowherd boys and calves<\/b> (Chapters 12-14 ) \u2013 after the third year passed and the fourth year started, in the autumn<i> (t\u1e5bt\u012bye p\u016br\u1e47e caturth\u0101rambhe \u015baradi b\u0101la-vatsa-hara\u1e47a\u1e41)<\/i> (little more than 3 years)<br \/>\n[Note: At this time He actually entered pauga\u1e47\u1e0da age but it was manifested only after a year passed \u2013 see 10.12.41].<\/p>\n<p><b>Pauga\u1e47\u1e0da age manifested<\/b> (10.12.37) \u2013 in the beginning of the fifth year <i>(pa\u00f1cam\u0101rambhe pauga\u1e47\u1e0da-prak\u0101\u015ba\u1e25)<\/i> (little more than 4 years).<\/p>\n<p><b>Started herding the cows<\/b> (10.15.1) \u2013 on \u015bukla-a\u1e63\u1e6dam\u012b of K\u0101rtika month <i>(tatra k\u0101rtika-\u015bukl\u0101\u1e63\u1e6damy\u0101\u1e41 go-c\u0101ra\u1e47\u0101rambha\u1e25)<\/i> (4 years, 2 months and 2 weeks).<\/p>\n<p><b>K\u0101liya-damana-l\u012bl\u0101<\/b> (Chapters 16-17) \u2013 in the summer of the fifth year <i>(pa\u00f1camasya nid\u0101ghe k\u0101liya-damana\u1e41)<\/i> (4 years and appr. 10 months).<br \/>\n[Note: This l\u012bl\u0101 is described in \u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam after killing of Dhenuk\u0101sura]\n<p>In His sixth year He was immersed in <b>herding the cows<\/b> &#8211; <i>(\u1e63a\u1e63\u1e6dhe go-c\u0101ra\u1e47a-kautuka-m\u0101tra\u1e41)&nbsp;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>He entered kai\u015bora age<\/b> \u2013 in the beginning of the seventh year <i>(saptam\u0101rambhe kai\u015bora-prave\u015ba\u1e25)<\/i> (little more than 6 years).<\/p>\n<p><b>Dhenuka killed <\/b>(15th Chapter)\u2013 at that time when when t\u0101la-fruits became ripe <i>(tatraiva pakva-t\u0101l\u0101vasare dhenuka-vadha\u1e25)<\/i>.<br \/>\nOn that evening also <b>the gop\u012bs for the first time manifested their loving mood <\/b>described in 10.15.43. (little more than 6 years).<\/p>\n<p><b>Pralamba killed<\/b> (18th Chapter) \u2013 in the summer of the seventh year <i>(saptamasya nid\u0101ghe pralamba-vadha\u1e25) <\/i>(6 years and appr. 10 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>Ve\u1e47u-g\u012bt\u0101 pastime<\/b> (21st Chapter) \u2013 in the eighth year during A\u015bvina month <i>(a\u1e63\u1e6damasy\u0101\u015bvine ve\u1e47u-g\u012bta\u1e41)<\/i> (7 years and 1 month).<\/p>\n<p><b>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a lifted Govardhana<\/b> (24th Chapter) \u2013 in His eighth year, on the first day of the waxing moon in K\u0101rtika month <i>(k\u0101rt\u012bke govardhanoddhara\u1e47a\u1e41)<\/i> (7 years, 2 months and 7 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>Govinda-abhi\u1e63eka<\/b> (27th Chapter) \u2013 in the beginning of His eighth year, on \u015bukla-ek\u0101da\u015b\u012b of K\u0101rtika month <i>(a\u1e63\u1e6dam\u0101rambhe eva k\u0101rtika-\u015buklaik\u0101da\u015by\u0101\u1e41 govind\u0101bhi\u1e63eka\u1e25)<\/i> (7 years, 2 months and 17 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>Journey to Varu\u1e47a&#8217;s planet<\/b> (10.28.1-11) \u2013 on the following dv\u0101da\u015b\u012b <i>(dv\u0101da\u015by\u0101\u1e41 ca varu\u1e47a-loka-gamana\u1e41)<\/i> (7 years, 2 months and 18 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>Vrajav\u0101s\u012bs bathed in Brahma-hrada<\/b> (10.28.16) \u2013 on the following full moon day of K\u0101rtika <i>(tat-p\u016br\u1e47im\u0101y\u0101\u1e41 brahma-hrad\u0101vag\u0101hana\u1e41)<\/i>  (7 years, 2 months and 21 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>Vastra-hara\u1e47a-l\u012bl\u0101<\/b> (22nd Chapter) \u2013 in the winter of His eighth year <i>(hemante vastra-hara\u1e47a\u1e41)<\/i> (7 years and appr. 3 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>Showing mercy to the wives of the br\u0101hma\u1e47as<\/b> (23rd Chapter) \u2013 in the summer of His eighth year <i>(nid\u0101ghe yaj\u00f1a-patn\u012b-pras\u0101da\u1e25)<\/i> (7 years and appr. 10 months).<br \/>\n[Note: \u015ar\u012bla J\u012bva Gosv\u0101m\u012b says in the commentary to 10.24.1 that these l\u012bl\u0101s are described in \u015ar\u012bmad-Bh\u0101gavatam out of chronological order because of \u015aukadeva Gosv\u0101m\u012b&#8217;s lack of self-control due to his prema <i>(prema-vaiva\u015by\u0101t)<\/i> and also because of the similarity of the pastimes <i>(svaj\u0101t\u012byatv\u0101c ca)<\/i>]\n<p><b>R\u0101sa-l\u012bl\u0101<\/b> (Chapters 29-33) \u2013 in the beginning of His ninth year, in the autumn season <i>(navamasya \u015baradi r\u0101sa-l\u012bl\u0101) <\/i>(8 years and 1.5 months).<\/p>\n<p><b>Journey to Ambik\u0101-vana<\/b> (10.34.1-3) &#8211; during \u015aiva-r\u0101tri festival on caturda\u015b\u012b [on the fourteenth lunar day of the dark fortnight of the month of Ph\u0101lguna] &#8211; <i>(\u015biva-r\u0101tri-caturda\u015by\u0101m ambik\u0101-vana-y\u0101tr\u0101)<\/i> (8 years, 6 months and 6 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>\u015aa\u1e45khac\u016b\u1e0da killed <\/b>(10.34.25-32) \u2013 in Ph\u0101lguna month <i>(ph\u0101lguny\u0101\u1e41 \u015ba\u1e45khac\u016b\u1e0da-vadha\u1e25)<\/i> (appr. 8.5 years).<\/p>\n<p><b>Ari\u1e63\u1e6d\u0101sura killed<\/b> (10.36.1-15) &#8211; on the full moon of Caitra month <i>(ek\u0101da\u015basya caitra-paur\u1e47am\u0101sy\u0101m ari\u1e63\u1e6da-vadha\u1e25)<\/i> (10 years, 7 months and 21 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>Ke\u015b\u012b killed<\/b> (10.37.1-8) &#8211; on the twelfth day of the dark fortnight of Ph\u0101lguna <i>(dv\u0101da\u015basya gau\u1e47a-ph\u0101lguna-dv\u0101da\u015by\u0101\u1e41 ke\u015bi-vadha\u1e25)<\/i> (11 years, 6 months and 4 days).<\/p>\n<p><b>Ka\u1e41sa killed<\/b> (44th Chapter) &#8211; on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight of Ph\u0101lguna month [2 days later] <i>(tac caturda\u015by\u0101\u1e41 ka\u1e41sa-vadha\u1e25)<\/i> (11 years, 6 months and 6 days). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dandavats.com\/wp-content\/uploads2\/162013-02-13-05-3216.jpg\"\/><strong>By Brijabasi das<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> I thought that many devotees would be interested in the following information on the times of different lilas and corresponding ages of Lord Krishna during His stay in Vraja.
