About 60 devotees took part. The Kirtan party left Govinda’s and headed straight to Piccadilly Circus, where Parasaram prabhu’s ‘Food for All’ project had been feeding a gathering of hundreds of young people that had been demonstrating throughout the day. When they saw him returning with a 60 strong Harinam Party, the young lady with the microphone welcomed the devotees and began to encourage the gathering to chant Hare Krsna with us. For the next 20 minutes or so, there continued an ecstatic Kirtan with hundreds and hundreds of people joining in with the devotees – chanting and dancing enthusiastically. It was beautiful and astonishing. I think that almost every person there accepted a piece of your literature. Certainly by the end of the evening we had distributed almost 2,000 pieces.
The Kirtan was powerful, and because of this, it was very easy to hand out your booklets.

A little later, two really nice middle aged ladies followed the Party for almost an hour. When they finally decided to carry on their way, they came up to me, and full of sincerity, thanked us for making them smile so much. They both held in their hands one of your books along with invites to the Soho Street Temple.

Next Saturday is Lord Nityananda’s Appearance Day and we are expecting over 100 devotees to take part in the evening Harinam. There are also kirtans planned for Oxford Street during the day time.

Srila Prabhupada, when we first drove you to view the property at 9/10 Soho Street back in 1976/1977, you were not very well. When we stopped the car outside the building and pointed it out to you, you asked, “How far is Oxford Street”, when you were told it was just 50 yards away, you replied. “Buy It”. Being close to Oxford Street was clearly an important factor for you.

Some years ago there was a survey taken were it was determined that the the 3 most iconic sights on London’s Oxford Street were.
No 1. The London double decker red buses
No 2. The London black cabs
No 3. The devotees chanting Hare Krsna !

We are looking forward to the day when that number one slot will be “THE HARE KRSNA’S CHANTING AND DANCING”.

Srila Prabhupada – thank you over and over again for giving us this wonderful Sankirtan Movement to spread all over London Town
Yours sincerely
Bhajahari das

By Bhajahari das

Srila Prabhupada, when we first drove you to view the property at 9/10 Soho Street back in 1976/1977, you were not very well.
