By Nrsimhananda das<\/strong><\/p>\n Given recent events I’m reminded of Srila Prabhupada’s prophetic words written shortly before he took sannyas. They are as instructive today as they were then. I start with verse 24 in order to tantalize the reader to peruse it in context as it appears later. <\/p>\n Verse 24.<\/p>\n I see all these things going on in Vrindavan\u2028Therefore I can understand that there is some work to be done here. \u2028The pr\u0101krita-sahajiy\u0101s all commit adultery. \u2028Taking someone else\u2019s wife they go to \u201crelish transcendental l\u012bl\u0101.\u201d\u2028This is not Vrindavan as always think like this my dear mind. \u2028Remember the lotus feet of the Six Goswamis.\u2028The Six Goswamis came and preached religious life\u2028They saved the process of devotional service on the order of Lord Chaitanya. The Lord himself sets the example in order to teach the j\u012bvas,\u2028So one who performs nirjana bhajana simply cheats himself.\u2028The world has now become full of Jag\u0101is and M\u0101dh\u0101is,\u2028The Nity\u0101nanda Va\u1e41\u015ba has increased its following of disciples.\u2028But eating, sleeping, wearing the dress, and remaining so unconcerned \u2014\u2028It is not proper for the Vaishnavas to remain so uncompassionate.\u2028Vishwanath Chakravarti Thakur sang the M\u0101dhurya K\u0101dambin\u012b:\u2028Look at his conclusion and see what is his judgement.<\/p>\n Verse 19.<\/p>\n Devotional service is causeless and self-manifesting;\u2028It is an eternally perfect substance but has become covered over.\u2028The madhyama-adhik\u0101r\u012b Vaishnava, being compassionate,\u2028Gives mercy to the innocent souls by awakening devotion in them.\u2028The Supreme Lord acts according to the will of the Vaishnavas,\u2028Therefore by the mercy of the Vaishnavas the bewildered can be awakened.\u2028The Vaishnavas can awaken the sleeping world\u2028By their mercy the sinful can all become devotees.<\/p>\n Verse 20.<\/p>\n Therefore they do not perform nirjana bhajana,\u2028That is the world-deceiving process of the kani\u1e63\u1e6dha-adhik\u0101r\u012b \u2028All the great and famous Vaishnavas were in and assembly\u2028When a foreign priest came in to meet them.\u2028He asked some questions about Krishna\u2019s l\u012bl\u0101 in Vrindavan,\u2028But even that company of Vaishnavas was not able to explain the truth to him.\u2028The kani\u1e63\u1e6dha-adhik\u0101r\u012bs do not really understand the scriptures,\u2028But in the guise of doing solitary bhajan, they are only thinking of their next meal.<\/p>\n Verse 21.<\/p>\n Our spiritual master said these are all kani\u1e63\u1e6dhas\u2028Now I can understand the truth of what he said.\u2028One well versed in the scripture and who has strong faith\u2028Is an uttama-adhik\u0101r\u012b and can deliver the whole world.\u2028He is the deliverer of the most fallen and is famous through the world.\u2028Now, save this fallen one and thus become really famed.\u2028In the Kali-yuga the j\u012bvas are all fallen and the lowest of mankind.\u2028Seeing they do not see the different activities<\/p>\n Verse 22.<\/p>\n The Supreme Lord Gaurasundara is the most magnanimous\u2028And His instructions are all full of nectar.\u2028One who has taken his birth in the land of Bharata\u2028Should engage in welfare activities according to his instructions.\u2028The Supreme Lord\u2019s l\u012bl\u0101 was to relish mellows in solitude,\u2028But it is not the play of Vaishnavas to imitate these activities.\u2028This transcendental service cannot be tasted by the non-Vaishnava.\u2028In the material body one cannot relish this transcendental nectar.<\/p>\n Verse 23.<\/p>\n One who has the material concept that the body is his self\u2028Cannot relish spiritual mellows.\u2028But those who have conceptions of the Vaishnavas in terms of birth etc.\u2028Are very bold when it comes to relishing the l\u012bl\u0101s of the Lord.\u2028Like the clerk in the post office, one caste goswami.\u2028The b\u0101b\u0101j\u012bs all pay their obeisances to him a lot.\u2028The Gosai Thakur has false pride in his birth\u2028Which Nity\u0101nanda Prabhu cut into pieces.<\/p>\n Verse 24.<\/p>\n I see all these things going on in Vrindavan\u2028Therefore I can understand that there is some work to be done here. \u2028The pr\u0101krita-sahajiy\u0101s all commit adultery. \u2028Taking someone else\u2019s wife they go to \u201crelish transcendental l\u012bl\u0101.\u201d\u2028This is not Vrindavan as always think like this my dear mind\u2028Remember the lotus feet of the Six Goswamis.\u2028The Six Goswamis came and preached religious life\u2028They saved the process of devotional service on the order of Lord Chaitanya.<\/p>\n Verse 25.<\/p>\n They are all the Lord\u2019s eternally associates and always remember R\u0101dh\u0101 and Krishna;\u2028Remembering them all the conditioned souls sins are cleared away\u2028But if he tries to imitate them taking on their dress and characteristics\u2028He becomes the plaything of m\u0101y\u0101 and does not cross over the material ocean\u2028Always preach! From j\u012bva\u2019s door to door\u2028Your life will be successful as a result of your preaching.\u2028Shri Dayita Das prabhu gave this instruction\u2028\u201cChant Hare Krishna loudly, this is my initiation:<\/p>\n Verse 26.<\/p>\n Kirtan is not just drums and karat\u0101las\u2028The sound of kirtan is not this modern system\u2028Anything favorable for devotional service is all Madhava\u2028And the only enjoyer of the three worlds is Yadava\u2028M\u0101y\u0101\u2019s pride and joy, the radio sound\u2028Destroy them all by forceful kirtan.\u2028M\u0101y\u0101\u2019s is all these newspapers\u2028Preach that throughout the whole world.<\/p>\n Verse 27.<\/p>\n Sitting alone in your room shouting, you may increase your bile\u2019s secretion\u2028But in ten million births Shri Hari won\u2019t be pleased.\u2028Shri Hari is no one\u2019s father\u2019s property\u2028Come out of your cage, stop making objection\u2028Everything belongs to Shri Hari and Shri Hari belongs to everyone.\u2028Chant the Hare Krishna mantra loudly\u2028By the performance of such sankirtan there will come remembrance automatically\u2028Then nirjana bhajana will be spontaneously manifested in the heart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Given recent events I’m reminded of Srila Prabhupada’s prophetic words written shortly before he took sannyas.
