Here in Vrindavan you spent 12 years at the Vamsi Gopal and Radha Damodara Mandirs, preparing for your bold journey to New York. How many evenings did u spend at Kesighata savoring the scent of the agarbati you had just offered to Sri Yamuna Devi? What were your thoughts as you planned to take the nectar river of Srimad Bhagavatam to the west?<\/p>\n<p>Before you wandered into New York\u2019s Tompkins Square Park, kirtan was practically unknown outside of India. Yet you are famous here in Vrindavan for chanting on the streets , as with friends you roamed the lanes for evening darshan. Did you plan then to do the same in London, Paris, Rome, Los Angeles, Washington and New York? Did you see yourself dancing in the downtown streets of London, yards from Queens palace, leading an ecstatic uproarious Sri Jagannatha Ratha-yatra? Staying here in Vrindavan before your epic journey did you plan what you would say to the attentive thousands at Trafalgar Square?<\/p>\n<p>Vrindavan overflows with devotional supplies. It must have occurred to you that you would need all these items across the sea in distant lands. Tulasi plants, Tulasi beads, bead bags, dhotis and kurtas, incense, pure ghee, mrdangas, kartals \u2013 you would have to move them across the ocean. Did you smile, visualizing people of the world wearing Tulasi neck beads? There is no greater gift than you would give Tulasi neck beads to the world. How to get a mrdanga from Vrindavan to the streets of New York must have occupied your thoughts. When you cooked in the Vamsi Gopal Mandira, were you planning how to distribute prasadam in London and New York? Were you here in Vrindavan when you perfected the recipe for the ISKCON bullet, the gulabjamun?<\/p>\n<p>We have heard from the local Radha-ramana Goswamis how you used to consult them about the deity worship protocols contained in the Hari-bhakti-vilasa. Did you tell those Goswamis that one day you would be performing deity worship in New York and installing Sri Sri Radha-Krsna in the middle of London? If you had would they have taken you seriously? We heard that you were wandering Vrindavan attired in inexpensive cloth, a worn bead bag as your constant companion. Talk of a temple in New York must have sounded like a grandiose dream. But those who looked more closely would have seen much to give them pause. They would have seen your complete dedication to the order of His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur. They would have seen your painstaking translation and printing of the First Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. They would have seen your regular magazine Back to Godhead. They would have marveled at your energy and determination as you systematically boarded the train to Delhi to personally distribute the unadulterated Vedic message on the streets of that city, whatever season. They would have thought this determined bhakta just might fulfill the prediction of Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu that His name will be heard in every town and village of the world.<\/p>\n<p>Srila Prabhupada, did you think of us, your servants, as we waited throughout the world for your arrival? We may have been at home or in a park, at school or work, but we were only waiting to awaken to your kirtan and dance in ecstasy. Did you see our smiling faces as we thrilled at your exposition of the Vedic truth? Did you see us learn to play kartals and mrdanga and dance in kirtan? Did you see us filling our bellies with fried rice, muttar paneer, pakoras, samosas, sweet rice, laddus and burfi? Did you see us chanting in London and distributing Back to Godhead in Edinburgh in the shade of the ancient castle? We are your spritual children Srila Prabhupada; you must have planned how to guide us. Did you see us eagerly reading more and more volumes of Srimad Bhagavatam, Caitanya Caritamrta, Krsna Book and the Nectar of devotion? Did you plan the recording of your lectures and your Vaisnava bhajans?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Srila Prabhupada, Vrindavan then, now, and eternally is your home. While at home you planned to take Vrindavan to every nook and cranny of the world. You planned to turn us bewildered \u201cwhatnots\u201d into smiling vaisnavas. You gathered us your servants off the streets of the world and welcomed us to your home and patiently accepted our faltering attempts to please you.<\/p>\n<p>Dear Srila Prabhupada you gave us a life here in Vrindavan realizing Sri Sri Radha Krsna at your lotus feet. How wonderful! You have trained us to give the message of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai to the world. How exhilarating!<\/p>\n<p>So now Srila Prabhupada, just like you, here in Vrindavan we make plans so that nobody on this planet should miss the chance of getting even a drop of mercy so they can transfer to the eternal, transcendental realm of unlimited bliss and live eternally in the presence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Sri Radha Krsna.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you Srila Prabhupada, we are made only of your mercy and the nectar of harinama you have made so real and so available.<\/p>\n<p>Your humble servants take shelter and beg for more service in your beautiful home, Sri Sri Krsna Balaram Mandir, Vrindavan.<\/p>\n<p>Srila Prabhupada ki jay!
