They are: cow protection, self-sufficiency, holy pilgrimage, spiritual education, and, above all, loving Krishna.<\/p>\n<p>ECO-Vrindaban (ECOV) is a non-profit that assists ISKCON New Vrindaban, with a special focus on the cow protection and self-sufficiency aspects of the over-all mission. <\/p>\n<p>To further these goals, ECOV would like to engage a qualified person as head of its newly created &#8220;Gardens and Produce Department.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The position is full-time and salaried, commensurate with experience. <\/p>\n<p>If you are interested, please send your resume and inquiries to Ranaka Dasa at dfintel@msn.com.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you and Hare Krishna!<\/p>\n<p>Service Description<\/p>\n<p>Department:\t\t\tGardens &#038; Produce<\/p>\n<p>Mission:\tMake the gardens attractive, a place where pilgrims, visitors, community members can find their connection with a natural way of living; create a proper service mood among the staff and support the temple with outstanding produce.<\/p>\n<p>Goal:\tProduce vegetables and flowers for the New Vrindaban community as per Srila Prabhupada\u2019s instructions. Make sure the garden looks attractive throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Job Title:\t\t\tDepartment Head Gardens and Produce<\/p>\n<p>Authority:\t\t\tECOV <\/p>\n<p>Requirements\/Skills:<br \/>\nKnowledge and experience in organic food production and garden management.<br \/>\nAbility to interact and communicate in a friendly manner with all types of people.<br \/>\nAbility to supervise staff and volunteers, assign duties and evaluate service.<br \/>\nAbility to value other people\u2019s contributions and to express appreciation.<br \/>\nAbility to deal with problems, time sensitive matters and difficult people.<br \/>\nOrganizational and administrative skills.<br \/>\nSteady, reliable, responsible, exemplary character.<br \/>\nAbility to follow budget and financial plan<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<br \/>\nPlan the new season based on the needs of the temple;<br \/>\nPrepare the garden for each season (e.g. preparing the soil, planting the seeds, maintaining the crops, harvesting, etc.);<br \/>\nManaging the day to day operation of the gardens, which includes managing the garden staff and volunteers;<br \/>\nMaintaining an attractive, healthy garden;<br \/>\nManaging budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditures;<br \/>\nInform the head of the kitchen one week in advance about planned harvest;<br \/>\nFood processing and storage<br \/>\nEnsure safety for all staff members, volunteers and guests;<br \/>\nEnsuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations<br \/>\nCare and maintenance of machinery and power tools as appropriate.<br \/>\nAttend meetings and training courses as required.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dandavats.com\/wp-content\/uploads2\/552013-12-20-09-3455.jpg\" width=\"600\" \/>Lilasuka Dasi: Srila Prabhupada provided five wonderful themes for the development of New Vrindaban.
