One article featured&nbsp;volunteer Vanessa Hodgon who has served at the FFL kitchen for the last 18 months,&nbsp;while&nbsp;the other reported on the&nbsp;Corrections\u2019 Vegetable Garden that supplies the FFL&nbsp;kitchen and the Salvation Army food bank<\/p>\n<p>Reporter Penelope McConnell wrote:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" ilo-full-src=\"http:\/\/fflg108-foodforlifegloba.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/HodgonPIC.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/fflg108-foodforlifegloba.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/HodgonPIC.jpg\" alt=\"HodgonPIC\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4442\" height=\"357\" width=\"336\">\u201cLast Tuesday they were lined up at the door,\u201d said Vanessa. \u201cOn a rainy, cold day people like to come in for a hot meal. We definitely have our regulars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Hodgon moved to Whangarei she found she needed things to do and a way to get out of the house and meet new people. She looks forward to volunteering every Wednesday and often turns up early to ensure everything is clean and ready to go.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis area at the front is my domain,\u201d she says. \u201cEveryone gets to know each other, there is no stress and we have a nice meal together.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The other article reported on Food for Life\u2019s innovative program for engaging prisoners in the charity\u2019s good work. The article was titled: OFFENDERS TURN HAND TO HELP.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" ilo-full-src=\"http:\/\/fflg108-foodforlifegloba.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/OffendersArticleFFLNZ.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/fflg108-foodforlifegloba.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/OffendersArticleFFLNZ.jpg\" alt=\"OffendersArticleFFLNZ\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4441\" height=\"301\" width=\"600\"><\/p>\n<p>Reporter, Alexandra Newlove said:<\/p>\n<p>More than 400 offenders are quietly righting their wrongs in the Whangarei community.
