While I was giving a book distribution seminar recently in Santiago, Chili, a devotee described an interesting incident that happened many years ago. A devotee was distributing books, and the books were going out much faster than usual. He usually would take a certain amount of books, and they would last a reasonable amount of time. Then he would go back to the temple. But this one day they were going out so quickly that he ran out much earlier than he expected. So he didn’t have any more books, but he didn’t want to go back to the temple so soon.<\/p>\n
He was so enthusiastic that he continued approaching people and just handed them invitation cards and told them about all the wonderful things the devotees are doing. He invited people to the temple and asked if they would like to give a donation to help our cause.<\/p>\n
One lady took one of the invitation cards and was so inspired by the devotee that she visited the temple. She liked it so much that she continued visiting and eventually joined the temple and became an initiated devotee.<\/p>\n
Because she was preaching to her family members they also became attracted to Krsna. They all became devotees. She had a brother who was an atheist, but he also couldn’t resist being attracted to Krsna, so he joined and even became a big-book distributor.<\/p>\n
This goes to show us the power of enthusiasm. He didn’t want to stop. It was so nice, and it can be so relishable that it’s contagious: Others want to experience what the sankirtan devotees are experiencing. Let’s pray that we can get that taste and enthusiasm that we just don’t want to stop and that those who come in contact with us want to taste what we’re tasting.<\/p>\n

A devotee was distributing books, and the books were going out much faster than usual. He usually would take a certain amount of books, and they would last a reasonable amount of time. Then he would go back to the temple.
