{"id":13560,"date":"2014-10-11T07:50:49","date_gmt":"2014-10-11T07:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=13560"},"modified":"2014-10-11T10:09:29","modified_gmt":"2014-10-11T10:09:29","slug":"hare-krishna-movements-european-discussions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/?p=13560","title":{"rendered":"Hare Krishna Movement\u2019s European Discussions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dandavats.com\/wp-content\/uploads4\/201410117K40dOu9.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Kripamoya Das<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the last decade in Britain there has been intense discussion about our membership of something called the European Union or \u2018EU.\u2019 Are we part of something much bigger than our borders, and if so, what are the terms of our membership?<\/p>\n<p>While the political wrangling continues, for the past 13 years we in the Hare Krishna movement have been creating a web of connections between all our temples in the EU and sharing resources and expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The annual meetings of European devotees of Krishna have taken place in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany and come in two forms: the European Leaders Meeting and the Regional Governing Body Meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Name an important philosophical, social or organisational issue and its probably been discussed here first. This year\u2019s meetings have just finished in Spain. They took place on the 750-acre farm of Nueva Vraja Mandala, one hour north-east of the capital, Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a piece about the European dialogue:<\/p>\n<div
