Srila Prabhupada often urged his disciples to write their realisations down:<\/p>\n

“Realization means you should write, every one of you, what is your realization. What for this Back to Godhead is? You write your realization, what you have realized about Krsna. That is required. It is not passive. Always you should be active. Whenever you find time, you write. Never mind, two lines, four lines, but you write your realization. Sravanam kirtanam, writing or offering prayers, glories. This is one of the function of the Vaisnava. You are hearing, but you have to write also.” Lecture 14\/08\/1972<\/p>\n

Of course as devotees we have a duty not to write any old thing but rather express our realisations making sure that they are not contrary to sastra.<\/p>\n

If we adhere to this principle then our writing has real value and can touch the heart of the reader. There is little that is more potent than a sincere, humble and heartfelt expression of our understanding of our relationship with Lord Krsna. As we know the first stage of having a relationship with the supreme Lord is having the proper understanding of our constitutional position \u2013 sambandha jna. Once we know and accept our position as the eternal servant of the Krsna – Jivera ‘svarupa’ haya-krsnera ‘nitya-dasa’ then our relationship with the supreme Lord can start in earnest.<\/p>\n

While there are so many struggles on the spiritual path our honest expressions of those struggles, coupled with our sincere desire to never give up our pursuit of Krsna bhakti, can be a source of great inspiration. Convincing people of their fallibility and their precarious situation in this material world, as well as the security and bliss that is ever available in the spiritual realm is such an important service.<\/p>\n

This kind of writing as encouraged by Srila Prabhupada will be attractive to everyone who is given an opportunity to read such pieces. As Srila Prabhupada says above \u201cnever mind two lines or four lines\u201d so if all you can manage is a few words, Srila Prabhupada is reassuring us that such an endeavour is also beneficial to both writer and reader. <\/p>\n

An automatic benefit of sending your realisations, given the nature of the medium, is that they will reach the eyes of many many souls.<\/p>\n

As websites are available for everyone to read, who knows who might read and be inspired by your words? <\/p>\n

Srila Prabhupada was always to keen to influence world leaders as he knew that if they became Krsna conscious they could greatly help to accelerate the influence of the sankirtana mission. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident that if the transcendental message of Srimad-Bhagavatam is received only by the leading men of the world, certainly there will be a change of heart, and naturally the people in general will follow them. The mass of people in general are tools in the hands of the modern politicians and leaders of the people. If there is a change of heart of the leaders only, certainly there will be a radical change in the atmosphere of the world\u201d SB 1.5.11 purport<\/p>\n

So if we can touch their hearts with our sincere and pure realisations as to the importance of everyone taking to this process of Krsna consciousness, then we can but please Srila Prabhupada even more.<\/p>\n

So whether writing for our own purification or for the benefit of others, writing is a valuable seva both for us and the sankirtana movement.<\/p>\n
