By Mother Laxmimoni<\/strong><\/p>\n If Srila Prabhupada visited you,<\/p>\n Maybe just for a day or two,<\/p>\n and came by unexpectedly,<\/p>\n I wonder what you’d do. <\/p>\n Oh, I know you’d give your nicest room,<\/p>\n To such an honored guest,<\/p>\n And all the food you’d offer,<\/p>\n Would be the very best. <\/p>\n And you would keep assuring him,<\/p>\n You’re glad to have him there,<\/p>\n That serving him within your home,<\/p>\n Is a joy beyond compare. <\/p>\n BUT If you saw him coming,<\/p>\n Would you meet him at the door,<\/p>\n With arms outstretched to welcome,<\/p>\n This honored visitor?<\/p>\n OR … <\/p>\n Would you have to change your clothes<\/p>\n Before you let him in?<\/p>\n Or hide some magazines,<\/p>\n And put the Gita where they’d been?<\/p>\n Would you watch those mundane movies,<\/p>\n Upon your TV set?<\/p>\n Would you have to answer those e-mails, <\/p>\n While he was taking rest? <\/p>\n Would you run to turn your music off,<\/p>\n before it reached his ears?<\/p>\n And put tilak on your forehead,<\/p>\n Or bind or shave your hairs? <\/p>\n Would you hide away your gameboy?<\/p>\n Maybe take those posters off your wall?<\/p>\n Would you have to hide the DVDs,<\/p>\n That you just bought at the mall ? <\/p>\n AND, I wonder … <\/p>\n If Prabhupada spent a day or two with you,<\/p>\n Would you continue on doing,<\/p>\n The things you always do?<\/p>\n Would you go right on saying<\/p>\n The things you always say?<\/p>\n Would life for you continue,<\/p>\n As it does from day to day? <\/p>\n Would you gossip with your partner,<\/p>\n About devotees’ faults?<\/p>\n Would you have to re-cook dinner,<\/p>\n Without the garlic salt?<\/p>\n Would you have to put on that kanti mala,<\/p>\n And find your japa beads?<\/p>\n And wake up in the morning,<\/p>\n Before the Sun peeks through the trees?<\/p>\n Would you sing the songs you always sing, <\/p>\n And read the books you read?<\/p>\n And let him know the things on which<\/p>\n your mind and spirit feed?<\/p>\n Would Prabhupada be invited<\/p>\n Everywhere you planned to go?<\/p>\n Or, would you, maybe, change your plans,<\/p>\n Just for a day or so?<\/p>\n Would you be glad to have him meet<\/p>\n your very closest friends?<\/p>\n Or, would you hope they’d stay away<\/p>\n Until his visit ends?<\/p>\n Would you be glad to have him stay<\/p>\n Forever on and on?<\/p>\n OR…<\/p>\n Would you sigh with great relief,<\/p>\n When finally he had gone?<\/p>\n It might be interesting to know<\/p>\n The things that you would do<\/p>\n If Srila Prabhupada, or the Lord,<\/p>\n came to spend some time with you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" If Srila Prabhupada visited you, Maybe just for a day or two, and came by unexpectedly, I wonder what you’d do.
